The Cowboys have made mistakes in trades and free agency so they distanced themselves from those options of player/talent acquisition.

The Eagles made some major mistakes in trades and free agency a few years back so they got better at it.

This has been the Cowboys MO for quite some time now and no one should be surprised. They are still mentally recovering from all the bad years over paying (money and or picks) and have convinced themselves this is the prudent approach.

Let's get this straight. We can make room for any deal we want. We structure deals to allow us flexibility if needed. We don't sit around with a ton of cap space. Ultimately, that's a smarter way to roll. Unfortunately that leads to a bunch of chicken little posts

I think that JJ is done with FA. He pulled the trigger on some bad decisions there. He is trying to build through draft and the FA stuff left a bad taste for him. Could be the reaches he took.

Talking about knowing NOTHING bud the reason were in Cap HELL is exactly all the Re-structured deals that have now caught up with us....now chicken that bud!

I think that JJ is done with FA. He pulled the trigger on some bad decisions there. He is trying to build through draft and the FA stuff left a bad taste for him. Could be the reaches he took.

I agree with ya. You cant just build through the draft though, even if you hit on every single draft pick they are only here for 4 years and their rookie year is probably useless most the time.

All three phases, if your good at one phase and suck at the other two, you are still losing

2015 - 5 sacks
2016 - 4 sacks
2017 - 8.5 sacks
3 year total - 17.5; average per year = 5.833 sacks

In a 3-4 scheme that doesn't suit him. He is a 10+ sack guy when playing all 16 games 100% healthy in a 4-3 defense.

We should have picked up both. Dak has 2 years left on his rookie deal. Quinn has 2 years left on his contract. Wilkerson would have been great on a incentive laden 2 year deal with a team option for the 2nd year.

Yep. Not sure if our cap problem keeps us from going after a quality FA pick up. I like FA because you are getting a proven player. But we have some pretty big contracts we have that eat up a lot of cap space.
