As fans we are on the outside looking in generally so our angst at times can be for no reason. Birddog26 seems to be plugged in within the Star so him posting tells me that the team docs are concerned. That holds more weight than us fans saying he has back issues. Ya know Waldo?

I've been concerned as well but reading it from birddog kinda feels like confirmation of our fears. Unless I am giving him/her too much credence.

just like dlaw getting tagged instead of long term deal
back issues are very tricky and hard to know what to do.
it seemed dlaw was able to manage it last year after a 2nd surgery

After @speedkilz88 posted a couple tweets, read through a lot of @Birddog26's tweets.
Most of you probably know about birddog's possible association with the team, but not sure anyone knows who he is.

Interesting tidbits if you believe - if true, signals a middle ground between garbage bin and premium fa's:

7. plenty of dt's in draft
Great post, Bird Dog is a great follow. Only thing I would quibble with is that listening to draft show and other outlets I thought while 1T DTs are plentiful this draft, I don't think there are a lot of top 3Ts. Especially with Michigan's Hurst still in health limbo.

Yea who is birddog I thought we were over trusting fans with claims of sources

Here's my Birddog imitation:

  • Cowboys had interest in Sammy Watkins but price was too high.
  • Team is looking into available WRs this draft.
  • Price was too high on Keith Smith so they let him walk.
  • Team may look address OG in draft, but will also look at LB and S.
  • Cowboys expect Zeke to run for a lot of yards next season.
  • Cowboys may look into trading up into the 1st round; if they don't, then they decided against it.

Well, he certainly didn't have surgery, so I guess that is the plan.

I know surgery is always the last resort and players hate going under the knife, but it got to a point last year where he wouldn't practice all week and just suited up. It obviously is not going away on its own.
Seems like Tyron is holding up surgery. If that's the case, my question is what is he doing alternatively so I don't have to see him on the bench mid way through the 1st quarter. It just seems like we're waiting for the inevitable again rather than be proactive.

Interesting tidbits if you believe - if true, signals a middle ground between garbage bin and premium fa's:
1. worried about tsmith's back
2. likes fleming for swing tackle with collins starting at rt
3. thinks they will sign fa g and draft a g also
4. did not like honey badger
5. likes tre boston, who played eric thomas' role for chargers and did well.
6. market for safeties is weak
7. plenty of dt's in draft
8. says richards has lots of input and expect lots of mix of zone and man
9. says he runs consulting company that works with many teams.
10. most fa dbs are no better than what we have.
Birddog26 is not a scout.

His association to the Cowboys is through Mike Fisher and Broaddus.
He is one of a group of Cowboys bloggers that post/tweet more about their connections than they do about just the team or football.

Years ago there were at some posters here that constantly focused on implying they had inside information. Birddog appears to hang out with that crew. KD Drummond was one of them. They did "rub elbows" with Cowboys players/coaches similar to how other local media people like Mike Fisher know some player/coaches but they don't have inside information in regards to the Cowboys opinions on players. Any info he gets is available to other media people.

Bryan Broaddus works for the team and doesn't really get true inside information. Too many things he has claimed over the years turned out wrong.

The type of information they do get would be things like what kind of trouble a current Cowboys player got into, a player being late consistently, etc..

You could submit a report to the Cowboys and then claim you scout DBs for them. The fact that you submitted it to a security guard or secretary is beside the point.

I think there are a couple of Safeties out there that would definitely improve our team. Not so much at CB.

Lol I’m just saying this board had a weird dark stretch where we let posters pretend to have sources. and then all everyone could talk about were those fake stories. but thankfully theyve been banned

I think our 1st pick is either a tackle or a LB. If Calvin Ridley is there, they may go that route.

This of course is if we can sign Tre Boston.

look at the depth chart:

cb: awuzie, lewis, jones, white-> may need 1 more real backup
s: frazier, woods, heath ---------> need 1 more preferably that can start at fs
c: tfred ---------------------------->need backup
g: martin, ?----------------------->need starter and backup
ot: tsmith, collins, --green----->need at least 2 backup and 1 that can start
lb: lee, smith, wilson------------>need 3 and at least 1 starting mlb

Who does Calvin Ridley compare to? We definitely need we talent but I can see us drafting one in the first round and have him finish with like 23 catches and 2 td’s

Agreed.

To me I see a bigger Desean Jackson and a smaller OBJ with lesser hands.

He can play and run all the routes. But he's going to be 24 this year.

If he is there at 19 you almost have to take him. 1 he would probably be BPA and 2 we need a vertical WR.

Birddog26 is not a scout.

He is one of a group of Cowboys bloggers that post/tweet more about their connections than they do about just the team or football.

Think about this too.

If this guy (Birddog) has any connection to the team, someone from the Cowboys organization needs to cut him off or can is arse because he's on Twitter blathering about team business like a middle school girl.

But even saying that is giving the guy too much credit. Not once has he ever forwarded any tidbit of information that couldn't be surmised by any Joe Blow that follows the team closely.

well i went through more of his tweets.
he said honey badger was a bad scheme fit and more of a ss/hybrid type on thursday
other interesting tidbits
1. he thinks cowboys may use less fb/te and more wr's to be more dak friendly - i hope that is the case
2. he has been talking up tre boston since tuesday.

in his tweeter, there are a lot of press types posting and asking questions.
no idea who this guy is.
