I would trade Zack Martin for a 1st and 2nd

Playing hardball? What is he asking for? The Cowboys will have to make him highest paid G in the NFL and that number seems to increase with every OL signing. A 1st and a 2nd ain't happening.

I would consider a 1st and a 3rd even if it was NE or Jags.

No team is trading a 1st and a 2nd for a guard, potential HOFer or not.

Interesting. Not saying I disagree here but I am curious, would you be willing to do the same when Zeke is up for a new contract?

Absolutely. I cringe at what Zeke is going to want and then this team thinking about carrying a TB with a massive cap number on their books.

If that is the case, is he worth 16 million a year?
Would you trade your 1st rounder and pay someone 16 million a year to be an OG?

As for the 16 million a year, no OG is worth that much, In order to justify that, one of our other highly paid OL would have to walk.

You must have loved the 8-8 years under Garrett. Teams win with playmakers.

Those teams had playmakers too but the problem was they were so cap constricted, they couldn't put a balanced team on the field at times.

If you are paying 25% of your cap to your OL, you are going to struggle to put a quality, rounded team on the field.

That's not to say I trade him just to trade him and save cap space. Someone would have to give up a lot to get him. But I don't think trading him if the return is great is some bizarre move.

Tyrons deal is so team friendly its funny you say that and we have him until 2020 something with the cap going up every year. Romo is off the books next season. Dez is most likely gone. You can most certainly afford him and Lawerence. Sean lee and witten most likely coming off the books by the time Dak gets his deal. Getting rid of the heart of our offense at any capacity is crazy talk.
Fair enough on Smith. After 2019 his cap hit goes down considerably.

Are you certain Smith will come back to form? if not, then you would trade away one of the two best offensive linemen, and then watch the other retire in what should have been his prime for two draft picks?

Maybe all you people who continually want to get rid of the best players on the team because of money need to get your head gear squared away.

Jerry and Stephen will sink the cap all by themselves without the help of the Madden Mob.
Wut? I don't even want to get rid of Martin - however if a team offers something crazy for him, I don't think it's out of line to at least consider it.

That's what I am saying. Teams build thru the draft and pay either offense or defense. We seem to want to pay our offense. So pay it. Not to mention we can also franchise him as well. I think they get a deal done before pre-season much like they did with Frederick.

Guard is hardly a play maker.

Id love to keep all of our great players. But the cap has a way of getting in the way of things. The Pats just let Solder walk.

If there was a way to trade him to a team in the top 10 and grab Quenton Nelson that be great

Well we need to either sign him now or try to get something for him.

We are big losers if he only plays this year. And tagging him the next would be very costly, not to mention no cap flex.

Has anyone heard what he is asking for? Speculation is $70 million over 5 years, but is it? Lawrence is supposedly asking for $84 million over 5 years, but do we know that for sure? Until we actually see something it is all just rumors, besides those numbers are just numbers and most of the time the guy never earns all of it.

Kind of depends on where the 1st is.

A top three 1st rounder equals about three late 1st rounders
