Restructure and you are going to feel so silly in 2-3 days.....

How? Where did I say Dez wouldn't restructure? I actually think Dez will restructure. But that's different from a pay cut.

But regardless, Kony Ealy is a backup. If he get's anything more than a Benny Mayowa contract I'll be shocked/outraged. The front office has wanted to reduce Dez's cap hit the entire off season. The timing of the Kony Ealy visit is just a coincidence, they could figure out how to sign Ealy if they wanted without touching Dez. You're looking way too far into it

The Cowboys were going to draft Ealy if they didin't trade up for Lawrence. They tried to claim him off Waivers last year. He is a position of need. They will sign him to more than the vet minimum and that money needs to come from somewhere. Just my opinion, you don't have to agree. It's OK to be wrong in the end. I have made a lot of money in my life living by this motto. Please send me a like for entertaining you this evening. Thank you and you are welcome....

Kony Ealy would just be the new Damontre Moore - a bottom of the roster guy with enough talent to take a flyer on. His guaranteed money and playing time would both be minimal.

The Cowboys will sign Kony Ealy to a contract larger than everybody in this thread is thinking. Dez Bryant will restructure his contract to free up cap space. Book it.....

Ealy made close to the vet minimum last year.

He did nothing to show he was worth much more.

You are just a troll...book it

Who’s wall?

The Cowboys FO is just talking tough.

We are fine with cap room even if we keep Dez at his current number. The fact that we didn’t cut him already shows they don’t care about his cap figure...they’ve already constructed their roster to include his cap hit.

If you want him to take a paycut...you ask one February, not after the top 3 tiers of free agents are gone.

That's not true at all. The Cowboys waited to ask Carr for money until after the draft and all the teams had spent their money and
filled their rosters. The Cowboys have until the 1st of June to dump Dez or get him to take a big money hit. Carr gave up the money
to stay one more year and Dez will have to make a decision to stay for less or get a 1 year prove it deal with some other team. That's
how Stephen will play it.

There are still 15 teams with over $15M in cap space and Donte Moncrief was worth $10M on the open market. Not the same situation at all....

So here's the case. Dez is not worth the cap hit this year. Stephen should ask him to take something akin to 7mil for this year. If he balks, then
let him find his best deal and leave. We had to let DeMarcus Ware go and we might have to let Dez go. Players who have big contracts have to
perform or make a choice...give back or go!

That is one of the major issues with this FO when it comes to FA, if a guy that was on their board during a draft becomes a FA and he is not a star they get tunnel vision for that player regardless that the player is mediocre. Do I think Ealy can help probably but is he worth more than the vet min probably not. I just feel sometimes they disregard other players because one of their draft day cats is a FA.

Carr’s story is not a good comparasion IMO.

First of all, Carr wasn’t one or Jerry’s guys. Jerry has never done one of his guys wrong and cutting a player now when you have had all offseason is not a Jerry move.

Second of all, Carrs market was considerably less IMO. We have seen receiver make Bank this offseason that have considerably less production than Dez over the last 3 years. That’s not even factoring in Dez’s peak years.

Lastly, we have already paid 8m to Dez in advance that is going to be on this cap with or without him. We paid that money to him with the assumption he would be here this season. Our cap gain if we cut him is minimal especially since free agency dollars have dried up. Next season is the most logical time to cut Dez.

All of those factors are going to come into play. Dez has considerably more leverage than Carr.

Okay, you don't like the Carr story so how about Ware who was let go early and also a couple of the famous Tripletts.
Jerry might not do Dez wrong but, hopefully he will not keep mismanaging the cap with bad contracts for marginal players
declining fast with age.
