I think he’s worth a third, maybe a third and a fourth, if his extension isn’t completely insane.

I'd go with the third or the fourth.

Seattle can't expect to get much considering the salary it will inevitably cost for Thomas.

They dumped Michael Bennett for little compensation due to salary and I expect they have to do the same thing with Earl Thomas.

They're stuck. And I'm calling their bluff.

But I'll ask again, if the moves with Bryant and Earl Thomas were connected, why didn't they happen simultaneously?

Nobody has an answer for that.

I don't believe anyone is going to offer more than a 3rd for ET, Seattle is going to have to decide if getting a 3rd is more valuable to them for their rebuilding process then having ET for one more year mentoring their young secondary.

I would do it for a 3rd and a reasonable contract, then go WR, LB & G in the first 4 rounds.

WR Moore, LB Jewel & G Smith plus Thomas would look pretty good to me.

This is plausible if Thomas has right of refusal. I'm not sure if he does. Otherwise, some team will offer more and use franchise tags if they need to.

If Dallas gives a 1st and 3rd rounder for Earl, they must be doing drugs. I'd just rather ride out the youth movement if that's what they want. We're not one safety away from a superbowl and Earl has a dez-like contract.

What will it take to trade for him and what kind of salary ?

Do you think giving a big contract to a player who has never played a down for the Cowboys will effect the locker room?

You have Martin, Lawrence, and to a certain extent Irving wanting and waiting for the long term security that an extension would bring them, and they're assuming the injury risk on 1 year deals.

Seattle needs to do something before the draft. I'd offer a 2nd and Cole Beasley. Take it or leave it.

I feel very strongly that we will offer something for ET before the draft and I agree that it will include Beastly. I think we will package him with a pick (perhaps a 3rd or 4th rounder) and say "here you go.. come get it or enjoy figuring that out".

ET stroked Garrett's ego quite nicely in the tunnel after that game and I think that stuck with Garrett. Add that to us having a major need there and it lends pretty good credibility to something brewing under the table.

I agree. Maybe they tried fishing out an amazing value for Thomas but they are quickly (well hopefully still) learning it isn't going to happen. Let them sit on it for a bit and get their bluff called and I bet they come down. This is also assuming they actually do want to move him. I feel like maybe they could/would as he clearly doesn't want to be there. You don't run up to another team's coach and yell "come get me" if you're still passionate about your current team.

I would pay what I had to up to a first round pick, which would be a no-go because of that fifth year option. I wouldn't give multiple picks with a 2nd.

I agree and said the same in another post but we need to fix the center of the line and lbs before spending a lot on 1 guy...id rather get 3 pieces that will make us collectively better...

I'd like Thomas, I really would, just not at the cost of anything that stunts our growth through the draft....additionally his cost is just very high when we have a lot of needs

No. Not unless they have the groundwork for a contract already laid out. Because they aren’t trading for him without an extension.
