Earl Thomas Opinion

I don't believe anyone is going to offer more than a 3rd for ET, Seattle is going to have to decide if getting a 3rd is more valuable to them for their rebuilding process then having ET for one more year mentoring their young secondary.

I would do it for a 3rd and a reasonable contract, then go WR, LB & G in the first 4 rounds.

WR Moore, LB Jewel & G Smith plus Thomas would look pretty good to me.

I would do it for a 3rd Rounder than trade to 4ths back into the 3rd and take Vita Vea, Best WR and Josey Jewel but I would
also being trying to sign Navarro Bowman LB in Free Agency.

My DL would be: Lawrence, Irving, Vea, Koly

Seattle needs to do something before the draft. I'd offer a 2nd and Cole Beasley. Take it or leave it.

You drive a hard bargain, Jerry.

No way I'm giving them a 2nd AND paying Thomas, which is the only way it makes sense to trade for him at all.

I feel very strongly that we will offer something for ET before the draft and I agree that it will include Beastly. I think we will package him with a pick (perhaps a 3rd or 4th rounder) and say "here you go.. come get it or enjoy figuring that out".

ET stroked Garrett's ego quite nicely in the tunnel after that game and I think that stuck with Garrett. Add that to us having a major need there and it lends pretty good credibility to something brewing under the table.

Garrett doesn't hire and fire. Stephen does!

I just can’t justify trading a top 50 pick for a will-be 29 year old safety who’s threatening to sit out the entire season if they don’t sign him to a massive contract extension. Seattle & him haven’t even begun negotiations. Everybody knows they would rather trade him, especially since they don’t have 2nd or 3rd round pick in this draft. That reported 1st & 3rd they want in return is them setting the bar ridiculously high so they can hopefully get something decent in return when they do eventually come down. The reality is, Seattle has zero leverage and Dallas would be foolish to give up anything more than a 3rd.

Garrett is on his last rope with Stephen so you better believe he will lobby for whatever he can get to improve the chances of him not sitting in front of Jerry on a Friday in 2019. Facts. So ET is not out of the question by any means.

I agree with everything but the 3rd. I think that is too high when Seattle has no leverage. 4th round would be as high as I would go. Now I could add another lower draft pick .

Seems like a like to get done though. Cause I wouldnt trade anything if he doesnt sign

Switzer replaces Beasley. Thomas is the best safety in football.

Easy.
Im not feeling Switzer. I know Beasley costs more but in a "Dak friendly" offense that forces the safeties to go downfield and reduces bracket coverage, Beasley will be a force again. A 3rd round pick and Switzer and possibly a 5th next year to sweeten the deal for Thomas. If we can contact Thomas's agent and discuss some of the particulars of the deal, Thomas may help to force the trade issue thereby reducing his cost in a trade.

No way we give up a 1st. 2 & 3 maybe

If so that would be plain crazy, how many 2nd rounders have we given up in the last few years along with the ones that have turned out bad, that we could have already built a D on within the last 6 years.

He's definitely worth a 3 & 4 pick. He's still got game and lots of knowledge to pass on to our young secondary. He be a welcome addition in my book.

This... I'd make the 4 a conditional 3 if he makes the Pro Bowl or something of that nature. The guy is a monster.

Put me down for no on spending 50 on him..I like this guy as much as anyone..but no

Naturally with Dez gone and some of his Salary available the Earl Thomas talk has been a hot talk again. The last talk with Seattle was our 1st and 3rd Rounders do you think this is still what Seattle wants or what will they actually end up taking our 1st, 2nd, 3rd or still a combo...............

What will it take to trade for him and what kind of salary ?
The Cowboys might offer a 4th but only if his contract demands are reasonable.

then how will Derwin get the snaps he needs?

i would rather spend that pick trading up for him if he gets past 13

There really any reason to waste the time on Earl Thomas? People really think a safety is going to be what carries us to the promised land?
