Jalen Ramsey over Zeke

Hypothetical and will get flamed.

If Dallas went with Jalen Ramsey instead of Zeke in the draft two years ago are Romo and Dez still here? Does Dak look just as good in his rookie year? My opinion, Dak shows some promise but Romo is still the guy when he comes back from injury.

I think if Romo plays, he gets hurt again in 2016 or injured in 2017. His body was just flat-out failing him by the end. Amazingly tough guy, but he gave it all and had nothing more to give.

Dez produces more with Romo because of their connection, but he goes in the toilet whenever Dak plays. I would say we'd cut him about this time unless Romo is somehow coming back to play in 2018.

Dak would've struggled a lot more as a rookie without Zeke keeping him in short yardage. Darren McFadden and Alfred Morris, maybe even Derrick Henry, would pile up volume stats as our lead backs, but they wouldn't keep the offense chugging the way Zeke does. He just bangs out yards that other backs don't get, and we've seen how much Dak struggles when he's forced into 2nd and 8 type situations.

I think without Zeke, Dak would have played as a rookie much more like he did as a sophomore, and with two mostly-mediocre campaigns under his belt (he'd still be making most of the starts over Romo), there would be far more talk about replacing him right now and deciding if we need a different QB.

One thing is for certain, everyone will have a better idea on Dak after this year. One good year does not make a franchise QB as I'm sure Dak is aware. Rookie year or not. I'm sure he has the fire and spirit to be his best and put in the work... As there are always expected growing pains. What is fixable and what is not. Time will tell.

How could anyone resist not re-taking Zeke...can you say Best HB in NFL!
It was more of an argument of how much of the success is Zeke and how much is Dak. Defenses play much tighter if you are throwing less than 10 yards a majority of the time. I think if Romo doesn't get hurt Zeke breaks DeMarco Murray's single season team record for rushing in his rookie year.

With Romo and Zeke can you say Superbowl.....That 8 in box Tony and Dez would bust it out big time and in turn give Zeke a 2000 yard season!

I wanted Jalen Ramsey all day over Zeke. I hated the Zeke pick fwiw, but Zeke has shown to be an amazing player. That being said look at all these late round rb's tearing up the league, I'm not convinced that getting 1ypc extra is going to make this team from pretender to contender. Rb is the easiest position to transition to the pro level.

We all saw what happened when Dak was left without Zeke!
Consider Zeke the most important player on the Dallas Cowboys!!!!
King Zeke without him all is lost!

I blame that more for Tyron really being subpar than Zeke this last year, especially by Tyron's standards. Like others have said, I don't believe the hoopla he feel's great now, let's see if he's missing practices in OTA's and training camp especially.

So Romo cost the team yet again by trying to play hero on the 3rd play of a preseason game after just missing most of the season before? Thanks, Pepperoni!!

Peterson got 2k with Christian Ponder as his QB and coming off an ACL. Is Zeke going to be the next coddled player by the fans where nothing will ever be his fault? Zeke so good he needs the best offensive line and top WR - QB combination to get more than 4.1? Joseph Randle gave us 4.1 with Weeden and no Dez

lol. Romo would be on i.r. once again after the 1st big hit.

I don't know why people can't accept that Romo was physically done.

In addition, even if they had passed on Zeke at 4th overall in 2016 and waited till the second round in 2017 to select a RB, they'd have had their pick of Alvin Kamara, Kareem Hunt, D'Onta Foreman, James Conner, Tarik Cohen, etc.

Some names on that list are better than others, but it's not like we'd have been stuck with Alfred Morris and McFadden, but that's probably just my own personal agenda against drafting running backs with top tier picks. They could have taken Derrick Henry in 2016 as well, which I think would have suited this team great.

So you take that monster, intimidating offensive line and force them on their heals against a constant pass rush? Who is your runningback? No balance whatsoever?

Romo comes back from injury....a pleasant fiction.

I guess there pros and cons each way, because look at Howard for the cubs. He is running pretty good and there OL dont have any 1st rounders on it. Now they have a change of pace back to go along with him now.
