I'm just waiting on Disney to make "The Legend Of Rico" movie.. a movie about a guy who has done nothing but is the new Rudy! Heck I'd use him like a rhino and put him on the defense with that large knot on his head.. heck cut a hole in his helmet so it can stick out..
Can we glassjaw in the game. Heck he might get knocked out just blocking.. I read he passes out taking a shower when the water hits his head..........lmao

He’s becoming the modern day Walt Garrison. 3rd and 5? He’ll get you 5 yards. 3rd and 20? By God, he’ll get you 5 yards.

I seem to remember Garrison carrying 3 or more defenders on his back to get those 5 yards. We could use that toughness on today's team.

Are they going to start allowing wheelchairs on the field?

I would venture to say that this is Witten's last year as a Cowboy.

As much as I admire everything about Jason Witten, it can't be in the best interest of the Dallas Cowboys to have a pretty much ineffective TE on the field. I think the only things keeping him on the field are a) he makes things easier for Dak (doesn't have to worry about where Jason is) b) he dissects coverages and finds a way to get open (albeit for a nominal gain) and c) his hands are still elite. If he loses any one of those three attributes, Jason Witten becomes a liability if he hasn't already.

Dallas Cowboys tight end Jason Witten isn't planning on ending his playing career any time soon.

Per Jon Machota of the Dallas Morning News, Witten would like to keep playing for at least four more years.

"Hopefully I can play until I'm 40," Witten said. "Just taking it one year at a time."

Great, another reason for fans to go bazerk, trash eachother and the organization after Dallas is forced to cut another holdover.

Either witten is just giving the political answer or he is just vary delusional.

Witten is an all time great, and I have nothing but respect for him - but if he really wants to play until he's 40, then he can do it on another team...

Oh look the next scapegoat to be led to slaughter by some on this forum.

Let me guess. Witten is the reason this team hasn’t won anything in 20 years? He’s the sole player responsible for the offense struggling last year? Just replace him and all the woes this offense suffers from will just disappear?

Oh wait and he sucks now, right? Can’t catch or run or block and he’s ooooooold. Gross.

:rolleyes::facepalm:

I have no problem with Witten, or any player, wanting to play until he's 40. They're living their dream and want to keep doing it.

It's up to management to make decisions in the best interest of the team, not any individual player. If the Cowboys fail to do that, it's on them. It's not on Witten.

I don't mind him trying to play until he is 40, as long as it is an open competition for playing time. I don't want him starting or taking the majority of the snaps if he isn't the BPA, Right now, Hanna is a better blocker and probably a better receiver too, but Wit is taking his snaps and that's what I have a problem with!
The issue is that's YOUR opinion. Obviously the people that actually run and coach the team don't agree with you. You know, the people that are at practice every day. But I'm sure you're more informed than they are. LOL They're not going to play him if they don't think he's the best option.
