PFF: Dez has seen a reduction in catchable targets

The problem with that analogy is that the qb is suppose to be able to drive a ferrari, that's in the job description. You know like being able to complete passes and stuff.
Cool. But in this offense and going forward we wont have a dynamic passer like Romo or his ilk...

Dak is who he is... He can win us a Super Bowl with the right pieces around him... I mean look at Russell Wilson and the seahawks. Similar starts to their career and Wilson didnt have a ferrari in Dez(laugh) and they still almost won back to back super bowls. What did they have? A legit oline, running game, a young secondary paired with a Dline that was opportunistic and hungry. Im sorry you have to potentially stop wearing your dez jersey but it is what it is

Yall stuck in this "triplets" revival need to simmer down...

He’s gone and I’m not pro or anti Dez, just saw this and posting for discussion and entertainment.

Why is this difficult to accept? This is NOT about Dez dropping balls. He did drop them too. We saw both poor throws and drops with our own eyes.

Without Zeke, Dak had more pass attempt and was less efficient. Without Smith at LT Dak faced more pressures and had to get rid of the ball quicker leading to less accurate throws.

Actually he only had one for the majority, Dak in 2016 and 2017, he had parade of backups in 2015. I was not trying to do anything with your original post just putting out info on who was throwing to him.
...And he had Romo between 2012-2014, which is why he said Dez had 2 different quarterbacks for the majority of the 2 time periods covered in this analysis

You guys want to discount the metric because it doesn't/can't cover all the variables. The metric is applied the same way, flawed as it may be, and shows a 10% deviation. That's a huge amount and is outside the range for margin of error so there's definitely something different happening.

All of the guys shown have the same QB for all years shown while Dez has two different QBs for the majority of the two periods of time shown. But let's all act like it's Dez that changed and fell off a cliff in his prime like most WRs do...
Tony and Dez did not click early either. Tony comes from the gunslinger, let's draw it up in the sand mold which fits in with Dez' inconsistent ways. Tony was not relying on him running routes correctly and being where he was supposed to be, Dak did. That is why Stephen was saying Dak was like Troy in that regard, and I guarantee Aikman would have killed Dez, or just never thrown to him.

It would help if they defined what "catchable" is. I believe their definition is the number of receptions + number of drops. I think they consider anything else as not catchable.

That's PFF for ya. They literally make up new statistical measures, arbitrarily assign values, throw some numbers into a cauldron, and see what comes out.

Also does not take into account receivers running the wrong route, or the wrong depth on a route, or reading the coverage differently on an option route which leads to uncatchable balls.

Doesn't really matter as long as their methodology is consistent from receiver to receiver.

It matters if the agenda is to make it look like the QB is the reason for the drop in catchable balls.

"Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics." - Mark Twain

These stats are all fine but they do not factor Dez's ability to actually get open, run the proper route, and run it with speed / precision. There is also the offensive play calling issue. That said when you watch the games Dez just doesn't get open. Throughout his career top corners have shut him down.

And after his Cowboys career no other Cowboys WR has ever caught more TD passes. Crazy

I'll repeat for those of you that suck at reading comprehension...

Dez had two different QBs FOR THE MAJORITY OF THE TWO PERIODS OF TIME SHOWN.

And I’ll repeat for those who want to discredit his career, NO COWBOYS WR has ever caught more TD passes in that same period of time.

Your post was actually pretty good until you started with the Dez jersey stuff, I shouldn't say pretty good I should have said flat out wrong. Dak and Wilson maybe in the same place but that Seattle defense will go down as one of the best of it's time. Where is our dominate defense like theirs, the secondary wasn't just young they were the best in the league by far. Philly just won a sb, the Rams are loading up, Rodgers is still in GB, this NFC is much tougher now than what it was then.

Bryant's legacy is of a whiny cry baby ***** boy who won purely on athleticism and jump balls in the end zone. When his athleticism failed him he turned to garbage. I personally believe 80% of what Dez was in 2012-2014 was because Romo was so good not the other way around. Hell look how good Romo made Twill and Miles Austin look!

Dude's gone, Romo is gone, time to move on to the future.

It's hilarious that you contradict yourself, have the correct view point, and still come to wrong conclusion. It's fascinating and depressing.
