Tapper will beat out Taco

Whats going to happen if Tapper beats out Soggy Taco? I think if Tapper stays healthy this is going to be a breakout year for him.

He'd have to outplay Taco a fair amount to earn his spot. But an excellent camp gets him on the 53.

Charlton, Taco DE
Ealy, Kony DE
Jones, Datone
Lawrence, Demarcus
Neal, Lewis
Tapper, Charles
Gregory, Randy

Only 4 maybe 5 DEs make the 53. Here's mine absent draft.

Tapper is last on first off the list.

If Tapper is actually healthy, I think he could be the comeback player of the year. I know they will give Taco the opportunity to win the spot because of his draft status. But if Taco doesn't play significantly better than he did last year it won't take a lot for Tapper to outplay him.

I think Taco will continue to play like he did near the end of the year. It will please me if Tapper outplays Taco.

Both of them playing awesome is great with me. Hopefully at least one or the other emerges. Both is even better.

Taco may end up being a good player, but I don't see speed as being his biggest asset. If he doesn't win with power I doubt if he will be very successful.

Speed to power, burst, and quickness. He is athletically similar to DLaw coming into the league but 25 lbs heavier. IOW better athlete.

I guess you are only familiar with the Khalil Mack and Von Miller type of pass rusher. People thought Bosa couldn't rush the passer either.

Well I think instead of a black eye it would be the cherry on top of that prior draft class. But Taco couldn't tackle his grandma, so it's not going too far out on a limb. Lol
verdict-- to be honest i was so disappointed when they chose Taco...i know NFL had lower grade on Lawson but that was my guy after of course Cleveland took what's his name #1` overall?...and Lawson ended up with 8.5 sacks for Cincy...but they always pointed to Taco's game against ohio state..but if you watched taco in that game..he never got a sack due to strenght or good pass rush skills ...as... his long arms got in there...but maybe taco improves under Marinelli to be a force?

We can hope. I'm not really high on Taco. In fact I wasn't very high on the pick. It would please me to be wrong about him, but I think he is really just a guy at this point.

He had better work his *** off in the weight room and work on his hand use or I don't think he will ever amount to anything.

Not something to worry about at this point. If Tapper is able to compete for the starting role with Taco, that's great. But we don't know that he will, and if he is, we don't know if that will speak more to a failure on Taco's part, or a success on Tapper's part.

i agree verdict ..one issue i had with taco is the guy is almost 280 pounds but such weight does not correlate with core strength...plu
not sure he has that killer demeannor many like to see from their edge rushers..although Bruce Smith was not a "rabid animal" either and holds sack record with 200????...i dont care if i am dead wrong in my analysis as long as cowboys kick some tail

Lot of DE's on the Roster

Wonder if they draft a sleeper or convince them to take a nice payment to come to camp. Duke Ejiofor, Wake Forest comes to mind but he'll be drafted mid round to lower. He was a sleeper but the cat is out of the bag on him.

Tapper is a RE. Taco is a LE. I don't actually think they are directly in competition with each other.
