File this away for a draft trade

I hear you...But as long as Jerry’s sitting at his usual spot in the center of the war room, I worry.

You still should be worried even if Jerry isn't making the call.

Somebody in that room is selecting Jaylon Smith and Randy Gregory.

• There will be some trades in this draft that might seem one-sided. Several team officials told me in the past few days that they value Day 2 picks (rounds two and three) so highly that they’d be willing to take slightly less in compensation to move down. Where could this come into play? Cleveland (four), Indianapolis (six), Baltimore (16), Seattle (18), New England (23, 31), New Orleans (27), Philadelphia (32). “This is not your typical draft,” said one veteran club official Sunday. “The second, third and even fourth rounds are gold. You can take less than the trade-value chart says and still make a very good trade if you get multiple picks in those rounds.”

Gil Brandt tweeted from everything he's heard could happen this is going to be one those draft that's talked about for long time.

STAY PUT..stay true to the draft board, and pick the player on your board. Only way I trade back is if my draft board is wiped out 3 ways to Sunday. No need to get cute.

I'd trade back a few spots if it meant picking up a third rounder. Say when the draft gets to pick #19 and there are four or five players that you like, you could trade back to pick #22 or #23 and still get one of your guys. And then you could have an extra third rounder to use or to trade.

Wouldn't it be great if you could get that additional pick and send it to Seattle for Earl Thomas? You would eliminate half the cost to get arguably the best safety in the league.

I would love to have two 2nd round picks. I would gladly take our 3rd and one of our 6th rounders, plus a 7th and trade it for like pick 60..somewhere in that range...Quality over quanity.

I like that idea too.

I expect that we will do some moving around like that and end up with 6 or 7 players rather than 10.

That's a solid idea. That's in case our board is still well intact. IF NOT..I dunno.

yup. I'm rather have 6 quality players to add into the mix than maybe 4 studs and 6 big maybe's. Hopefully we draft 2 quality linebackers. Got to have them.

Yeah, if several players you like are still available and you don't drop down too far. For instance, it would be nice if Buffalo and New England both like the same quarterback. Make a deal with one of them and you only drop down three or four spots.

A Travis Frederick kind of a deal would be very nice again this year.

Yes we do. But I don't feel we've got to have them in the first round.

I actually like the 2nd and 3rd round linebacker prospects better than the guys being mocked in the 1st round. I like the value. Darius Leonard and Jack Cichy can be had in the 2nd or 3rd rounds.

Agreed...but didn't we pick up Terrance Williams with that extra pick? We can do better!

That may end up what we have to do. I like Evans in that case. To me he is just an Alpha dog leader. He can help Jaylon.

I think we can get some Hitchens type linebackers in rounds 2 and 3..MAYBE even later.

Well boys...that day is almost here. Just 2 days left til the draft. Many things can go down trade wise leading up to and during draft day. I think it will be electric.

This is why they need to trade up. As in packaging lower round picks to move into the 3rd and 4th rd. No way 10 draft picks make the roster.

Agree about the last comment you made. Its a numbers game. However, one could make the argument that u need numbers, volume.

Agree with many! That is why I would never give a 2nd and 3rd for a 29 yr old safety. Moving down is great but you need a partner. I think at this point our best partner is NE if it can net us an extra in the 2nd or 3rd.

Yes, we certainly can.

And we took Williams ahead of Keenan Allen too. Insult to injury.
:banghead:

If they "value" day 2 picks so much why do they fail so often with 2nd rd picks?

I see a draft day trade comin involving ET..but not for a 2nd round pick. I see two 4th's ,one this year and 1 next. I'm not giving up more than that.
