Listen it isn't like the offense is going to be horrific next year. You still have a dominant Oline, a dominant RB and a qb that can move around. The seahawks made something like that work for years. I hope teams stack the box on us because unlike last year maybe we'll have a guy or two that can beat someone over the top.

Losing dez to me isn't a big deal. I think dak was much more successful when he spread the ball around and took what the defense gave him. Trying to "force to dez" or keep him involved in the offense didn't work for dak. Losing witten on the other hand hurts him more cause as most have pointed out witten was a security blanket. He was so good at sitting in those zones and making plays when he needed to.

At this point i think we have enough on offense. Enough to win if we can develop a top 5 defense. I don't think our defense is off btw. We can rush the passer, secondary has promise, and the LB's should be good and versatile. I think a WC would be adding earl thomas though.

The offense is going to be rolling next year. And why wouldnt it? Because Dez got cut? Please.

With the way that we run the ball we are not going to be put into many third and longs. Running the ball also helps score in the RZ. Dak is going to have all day to throw the ball but it really all comes down to him. They are setting him up to succeed.

For my money the OL and RB corps is gorgeous.

OL looks fantastic now. green is the only wart, but even he may improve.
I like the RB’s too. Still wanted D but I guess with the last pick in the 8th a RB can help just as much as another player.

No doubt this helps Zeke and Dak, the bread and butter of the O
I was ok with the WR and even can accept Gallup there, though I wanted a DT. But I can except Gallup.
So with Dak having time to throw, I am fine there. Just didn’t think they needed to draft another WR. Even with Switzer traded, did not need Wilson.

Just about a 100% turnover for all the offensive skill positions the last 2-3 years. Gone Romo, Dez, Murray, Witten(?) and a handful of other starters and backups. Essentially only the OL remains.

The best offensive changes would be firing Garrett and Linehan.

Geoff Swain is many things. Explosive isn’t one of them.
With Witten trending further and further downward, it’s not hard to be more explosive than what he became (and would’ve become as he sunk even lower in 2018). Went from being a guy who could do you 11 or 10 yards per catch to 9 and then down to 8. Was heading down towards 7, and at that point, you can put a pure fullback on the field and run swing passes to him and match that kind of average.

If our TE group manages a hair better than 8-point-something per catch in 2018, they’ll officially be more explosive than Witten was last year. No guarantee they do that. But it wouldn’t be that hard, even without any lithe receiver types at the position.

And we added a guy with more than any of them

Dude Swaim has 9 catches in 3 years.
Witten can get that in 1 good game.
His best year in college only got him 10 catches.

You are grossly underestimating the drop off at TE after Witten. His best year in college only got him 10 catches.

New energy is a good thing....when players get their big payday then semi retire, it's time to churn.
I like that they drafted a QB to send a message to Dak. Hopefully this new QB will look good during preseason. Dak played well his rookie season with the extra pressure of Romo possibly coming back, i'm hoping for similar results again out of Dak. :star:

Liked the Austin move.

Worth the risk of a 6th rounder.

Yea, I hate it when players get complacent and only 50% effort just for a fat paycheck.

Best part is the scheme and play calling has to change

The best part is no longer having one player who was so limited in his mental approach to the game that it limited what the offense could do with him.

Hey Witten is a legend... No doubt about it, but his inability to get any RAC hurt his offense.
