If I recall correctly, "Chuckie" was high on Switzer when he called the Cowboys games. I should say higher than he is for most players. On a side note, I always felt Gruden thought Dallas was a better team than what they showed on the field.
While I don't miss Switzer I can't hep but think he is going to be a good player for a team that let's him develop. He reminds me of Danny Amendola and Martellus Bennett, two guys Dallas had but because of the roster never really got a chance to develop as players until they went to other teams. Switzer didn't have all those punt returns in college because he can't play. He has RAC ability and I thought he was a little faster and stronger than Beasley. Beasley is quicker, but as we saw last year, the lack of top end speed and strength allowed teams to defend him pretty easily. This is why I think Dallas is looking to revamp its entire WR corp. Beasley is no longer a sure thing in the passing game.
The problem for Dallas is with Austin they have 3 guys who do the same thing. Austin is far more capable, IMO, of running the jet sweeps than Switzer which makes him more versatile. In any case, having too many guys at a position is certainly better than not having enough. Trading guys for picks or other players at positions of needs beat cutting them and getting nothing.
