Will McClay: Dez Bryant was inconsistent, couldn’t win one-on-one

I'm sure we'll get the "Dak isn't accurate" or the "Tony Romo says Dez is always open" line soon.

What I saw and heard Romo comment about today is that he's a good teammate and that he thought he'd catch on with another team soon. That was about the gist of it, though. I don't think there's any question but what Dez isn't nearly the player Dallas had at the outset of his career. There's a good reason why teams haven't responded up 'til now if he's the same guy he was back then.

I think he's at least close to being finished if he's not. Will McClay said on the report that I heard is that he's "no longer able to get open on the outside any more." Sounds pretty accurate to me. Whether he's able to catch on with another team or not remains to be seen. Players simply get old, beat up and lose their oomph. It happens.

I mean it's true. Will and staff can be guilty of cognitive dissonance.

Dak was bad most of last year and that wasn't because of Dez. Did beasely lose the ability to beat one on one coverage also? Did Dez stop drawing double coverages?

I'm fine saying we cut Dez because his production didn't match his salary (though looking at the wr market you wonder if that's true....). But if we're just going to ignore mitigating circumstances...what's the point?

It's irrefutable that Tony can/could get more out of Dez than Dak. That isn't necessarily a bad thing but it's A thing that ignoring makes no sense.

with all respect here...Dak was running for his life,or had dudes in his face..hangin off him,and its mostly because the left side of the oline was worse than bad.Dak had PTSD after the Atlanta game..he was never the same. I dare you to take eight sacks and countless hits and then you tell me its YOUR FAULT.Thats why we got Fleming, and drafted Connor Williams. On top of this..DEZ couldn't get open consistently. A bad left guard, left tackle, coupled with poor receiver play,is a bad combo for any QB. Oh...and we had no Zeke for 6 games. That aint on Dak.Just sayin. Cut the dude some slack.

Dez should have taken the money offer by the Ravans. If he don't ball out this year he will became a league minimal vet. Should have cash out bruh.
Dez may have to sign anywhere that will have him but it wont be for his price. The Giants do not want him. They would have already if that were the case. Same with the skins. Dez was a complete moron when he disrespected Baltimore and Ozzie Newsome the way he did. You just don't turn down Ozzy. That crap gets around the league then other GM'S are far less likely to want you. Its a bad deal Dez. You screwed up.

Exactly, also the Ravens wanted him when he going through the draft. Bellichick check in with Ozzie first before he handed us the pick. Being a professional is about moving forward. DWare tried to tell Dez this but he didn't listen. Would rather turn down success and money to play against a former team. Priorities are all mess up.

Fact: The offense did not score a passing TD after Week 9 to Week 13.

3 games without a passing score. Dez is part of that but he’s not the sole reason for it. Will McClay did not give you an honest assessment.

Translation:

Dak can’t consistently put the ball where Dez prefers it, like Romo could, so we’re moving on.
That's your conclusion? lol..wow.. Just the year prior Dak was known to be the most accurate passer in the league not named Aaron Rodgers. That's pretty high praise for a rookie. So let me get this straight..your saying he lost his mojo in 1 year and Dak lost his accuracy?
