RECEIVERS CONVERTING THIRD AND SEVEN
Looking at receivers converting third and seven or longer, we find that Philadelphia had three receivers in the top twenty: Agholar ranked 7th, Ertz ranked 10th, Alshon Jeffey ranked 18th.
Dallas had zero receivers make that list. Zero guys were consistently able to help Dak convert those third and longs.
Who else had receivers that were great at converting third and long?
If you’re holding onto the belief that not converting third and long was Dak’s fault, then it would stand to reason that all the receivers topping the list for converting long third downs would be on teams with great quarterbacks, yes?
Both Miami and Tampa Bay had two receivers each that vastly outperformed all of Dallas’ receivers in converting third downs with 7+ yards needed. And both those teams had quarterbacks that underperformed Dak in just about every single relevant QB metric. Cutler, for example, had a QBR last year that was 25th best in the NFL. Remember, Dak finished fourth in QBR.
That right there is some stupid stuff. You can't make that up!!!
