It really just comes down to Dak getting rid of the ball on time and on target. He won't always have the cleanest pocket to work with, but then again, most of his NFL QB brethren make do with what they have (and that is usually a lot less). Yes, he should grow with experience. I haven't forgotten that he's only entering his 3rd year, but that does not mean that he needs to improve any less and that he should be excused when he makes mistakes. He has a chance to be a special player, but he ain't there yet. Those two "cowboyswire.usatoday.com" articles that I linked to speak more to where Dak is as a QB than article that the OP linked to to start this thread. Dak simply needs to improve and then, keep improving.
Ok..your right, but get rid of the ball where? lol...what if no one is open A....then he's got dudes hanging off him. I don't think he forgot how to be on time and on target suddenly. I think MAYBE he got a little complacent, coupled with bad oline play on the left side and poor routes/separation. The wideouts were lazy.

So we use an article written by a fan boy to tell us that Dak wasn’t the issue last year?

Yea OK, all the pass catchers had a down year so it’s their fault. I guess we’ll find out this season if this article is right.

first off Eli is seasoned vet and a gunslinger he like likes hucking that ball up there, dak was 2nd year player and had it way to good his rookie year so this was shock to him when it happened..

also what has Eli done the last 4 yrs? he didnt even beat our team as we were 2nd in the NFCE even as bad as dak was a Allegedly accused of playing, with no zeke for 6 games..eli didnt beat us in 16..so im trying to figure this out..help me :)
Obviously, no question that Eli has not played well for the last years, but not did he not have an O-line, but no decent RB either. Obviously Dak is much less experienced, so you can't compare then directly, but there are few teams who have two excellent O-Linemen, let alone four. QBs need to learn to cope. In the end. Regardless of how old Dak is, he will be judged by his performance and his ability to lead his team to victory. They moved on from Romo in 2016 because they felt he was ready, but 2017 certainly gives Cowboys fans he is. Dak hit a bump in the road, had some adversity and didn't particularly deal with it well and regressed (please read the articles I linked to if you don't believe me, as they site relevant stats and observations). I have high hopes for him in 2018, but he will need to improve regardless of the talent he will eventually have to work with.

maybe if Dak wasn't getting hit and harassed like a piñata...MAYBE he would be accurate.

You may not like the video that has been posted here (and I'll concede that the clips were somewhat cherry-picked). but it's not anything I hadn't seen before. Dak misses open receivers, even when he has time and when under stress in games, he sometimes feels pressure that is not really there on some plays. I find it hard to believe that all the receivers are lazy and failed to get open.

PTSD at QB is real, and I'm not kidding. Look at Dak after Atlanta, then go watch him prior to. I'm amazed he survived the year with no major injury. His toughness gets no respect. The kid is a beast..

You can cherry pick all 32 QB's and put together a negative video. Means little. All QB'S feel pressure, and if they say they don't they are lyin. All QB'S become human AS SOON AS YOU BEAT THEM UP. Look at Brady in the SB last year.

Dak got more protection than Brady did at times last season (one game Brady only had one starter), yet he didn't get "whacked around like piñata). The whole "Dak under duress all the time" thing has been pretty well debunked. Yeah, I'll give you the Atlanta game, but in no other game did Dak have any worse protection than half the QBs in the league (except maybe the San Diego game).

You guys keep making excuses. The linemen didn’t forget how to block. The receivers didn’t age out in 6 months.

Coordinators saw holes in the guys game and he got exposed. Maybe they game plan the heck out of this season and he can just drive them to a good season. But it’s gonna be tough to get 7’s.

It’s easier to rush a qb who’s tendencies are predictable

Maybe I'm wrong guys, but Kellen Moore will not help Dak.

Dak has a good arm, and great legs... But he has much to improve.
