Have we closed the gap on the Eagles?

The only place where Wentz and what's his face are compared as if it's a legitimate debate is on these Cowboys message boards. Outside of that it's a no brainer. Like comparing Brady and Bortles. Do we really need to waste the time?

We screwed the pooch in April of 2016 and it is franchise altering as well as crippling. Worse yet the Eagles reaped the benefits of it and that pay off has only just begun.

Go Cowboys.
And it amazes me how some people just cant see that!!! The crazy thing is Garrett had a first hand look at Wentz by coaching him in the senior bowl and still Dallas was thinking Romo was going to be the QB again. Romo was so busted up by that time Dallas should of just moved up a couple spots to secure Wentz. People think Oh you would have to give up too much. you cant put a price on a true franchise QB who has potential to be top 3 in the league. Right now if the offer was on the table you could trade Dak, Zeke, and throw in Martin for Wentz and this team would be a better team for the next 12 years.

Great question? I think we are close in talent. We are definitely better OL and RB. Maybe WR. LB will probably be better by the end of the year. Otherwise, not sure. TE is a negative at present for us compared to them. We'll see.

Jobberone, I really am not stubbed on the tight end picture. This is a growth year and some talent that can actually block to fill the need. There is playing quickness and good hands people also. Down the seams with the mix of multiple targets, should get a lot of success...up front.

Just up front here, the better that all teams in the NFC East are...well, the better that the Cowboys, themselves, will become. Great teams from the East often came up through this very window.

Here...birdie, birdie, birdie

The Eagles wouldn’t take that offer, but your point stands.

I dont agree at ALL..the eagles will have gotten better or at least stayed the same as their Defense and Coaching were what was really better Wentz didnt win the SB Foles did and with backup WR and RDB and LB..they were a better team with better depth..The QB was not the biggest difference..

fact you remember Wentz struggled his rookie season, they go out and revamp the WR core and Oline etc and make a lot of changes his second season and get foles as a backup… this year is similar as the cowboys are taking a nearly new WR/TE core into the season and and upgrade and depth on the oline , no suspension for zeke and some young 2nd year DBs and some depth at LB..I feel we will be better for it..

And based off of their rookie seasons, the team wouldn't have traded Dak for Wentz straight up. A lot changes from season to season in the NFL. Trading up for Wentz was never a consideration, so there's no point agonizing over it. Let's hope we get the Dak we had his first 24 games and not the guy who finished most of the 2nd half of last season. If we do, we don't need to kick ourselves over Carson Wentz. Let the Eagles fans how he returns to form and shows the durability he needs to show to be their long-term answer at QB.

Fantasy owners won't even select Dak on there teams and you are expecting a NFL team to trade what exactly for DAK?

At most you would get a 4th rounder maybe a 3rd and thats a big maybe at this point!

Wentz for the above in a heartbeat i say then again this White kid looks like he's got the arm you never know what next season will bring....with the exception that Dak is the most prestigious BUS DRIVER in the NFL....

Been loving the Star since the Staubach days pretty sure been bleeding blue long enough!
Thanks for asking.

People want to dismiss Wentz rookie year but ignore the facts. Wentz was not placed into an established system like Dak. He was also QB3 until 8 days before start of season with no PS playtime. Eagles had the worst WR corps in NFL and most drops. Despite that he came out playing strong until Lane suspension derailed his game. When Lane came back so did Wentz. They also had no run game. Most of the problem was Chip Kelly destroyed the team and gave away its talent. Even with all that there was only 3 games that they lost by more then 7 points/2 possession. Every game was dam close.

Dak last year had the benefit of having the same guys around him from 2016. They should of had great chemistry because of it . People talk about Wentz having weapons but ignore the chemistry part and how it takes time. Hopefully Wentz n Foles come out even stronger. I also hope Dak does not suffer because of Dallas FO and making so many changes... its hard for a young qb

Well, we'll see. I'm a tad optimistic.
