Toys R Us is no more

Toys-R-Us was "dead" along time ago... The Internet hastened it but it was not the deciding factor.

Keep in mind only 10% of all retail dollars are spent online... The rest? Brick & mortar.

Others have pointed out the problems TRU caused themselves so I won't get into it.

Fish and Game just issue tags for Geoffrey the Giraffe......"Hazel go grab my Remington 700"

I would never rather "Walmart". I hate that place with a passion.
Sam, where else can you go drunk, disheveled and down on your luck and actually feel better about yourself in 5 minutes?

We've been handling all of this Middle East stuff all wrong. We need to send Walmart People, preferably from southern OK, after the Taliban and ISIS, it would be over in 3 days. They'd think Allah had turned His back on them.

I was a store manager for Toys R Us while going to college in the 90s.

Kind of sad to see them fold, but not too surprising. They had a lot of issue back then as well.

Toy's R Us is a victim of technology in today's society. The convenience of being able to jump on a computer at home in your comfy recliner and order just about anything you can think of is mostly to blame. Stores cannot keep up because they cannot keep the inventory necessary to be able to draw people from their homes. There's a huge lack of selection in stores. Even WalMart carries only a portion of what they offer online. And to boot, they offer free shipping without a yearly fee like Amazon does with Prime. This is why malls are becoming ghost towns and big chain stores like K-Mart, Sears and JCPenney are closing all across the country.
This is true. I just ordered a pair of waterproof socks because... why not? They could be useful one day...

Didn't have one close to me. When my daughter was younger and I happened to be nearby one I'd pop in and look for some of the exclusives for toy lines she liked.

Maybe they should have a new marketing scheme and a product makeover and rename it "Adult Toys R Us" with Stormy Daniels as CEO.......think of all the investers wanting in on that gig.
