Cowboys have highest-paid defensive end unit in the NFL

We just tend to overpay some positions while not paying any attention to others.

Good cap management requires thoughtful, forward thinking plans that do not hamstring your team with too many long term deals or spending too much on just a few positions.

That’s the concern I have about our cap spending. We tend to overpay at a few positions like WR or DE while we neglect drafting or paying for some other positions. (Like DT or S) I do think we have improved at drafting and cap management some but we still have lots of room for improvement.

It doesn't hurt managing the cap, that arguably the best QB of all time has always signed team friendly contracts, especially when that is typically where the majority of salary cap money goes.

If they lose a guy they trust their scouting department to go find a guy and their coaches to coach them up. Currently playing under a two-year, $41 million contract he signed last March, some could make the argument that Brady is actually underpaid. His annual average of$20.5 million makes him the 12th highest-paid quarterback in the NFL.

Yeah, he is definitely under paid! As much as I hate the Niners, I respect Joe Montana in my humble opinion the GOAT. I am so glad we played Steve Young in those championship games in the 90’s and not Montana. Roger the Dodger is OOTGOAT!!!

No, dude, sorry, he's not. Brady took some ridiculously low contract for a QB so they could build a good team around him. Took like 20 mil/season when he could have easily gotten 30.

The GOAT moniker will always be debatable. In these days of inflated salaries Brady is taking a discount but he has been in the league 18 years, I think financially he is doing OK.

Montanna was better than Steve, but both awesome QB's. I would take Roger on my team any day of the week.

Crawford's contract is a sunk cost, but it shouldn't mean you're then forced to tie one hand behind your back to force him out there at right defensive end. The team finally has some better options and I hope they use them.

Definitely not the best - but likely pretty good. For once there is actual depth to go along with the starters.

At this point I think it's reasonable to think Tank and Taco (if the second half of last year carries over) are better options at DE, and Ealy to me is comparable to Crawford at end so it is better to have Crawford inside.
