If he's retiring, then no need to play it safe all season. Specially when it never worked to begin with. Be really nice to see those corners playing up. Jeez, it's about dam time!!
I hate seeing the tv presnap and not being able to see the CB in the screen. Lol.

lol 8 yards off the ball on 3rd and 4. That's just smart coaching.
I don’t know if that was in the secondary coach or not but it gets old. I heard someone say that he left it up to them how far off they played.

Whoever it was you just can't let that go on as long as it did. That's a real problem if the HC or DC don't know better to actually fix it.

Yeah, he caught double digits touchdowns, 1200+ yards, and 80+ balls every year for 3 years and never got separation. You can't be serious.

Look, Dez was done and he is a major head case, but he was an elite wide receiver in his prime, during those 3 years. You're just being ignorant.
Name calling is a sign of weakness. And really lame just because someone doesn't agree w/ you. If you don't like to have football conversations, you shouldn't engage in them.

It was one of those very obvious problems that is fans could see, but the staff who supposedly watched film every week don’t? A lot of these issues fall on the HC. He has to see this stuff and tell the coordinators to fix this crap. There is a problem when 3rd and 15 is a easy pick up. It’s funny that if it’s 3rd and short I feel more confident in our D.

Hard to believe. No NFL DB coach tells his DB's to play wherever you want. So, I have to doubt that it's true.

He will have a dominate Defense that will still give up 3rd and 15. It’s the prevent mode that is dumb.

In the gb playoff game we played aggressive and went after rogers for the most of 2 1/2 quarters after falling behind and we stopped them dead in there tracks and on the last play when we scrapped and clawed our way back he calls a 3 man prevent. Granted Irving was put in a sleeper hold right in front of the ref and it wasn’t called. But he goes right back to it. Had he called the same aggressive 4-3 we would have went into OT and likely won the game. Instead that one bad playcall that gets beat almost everytime he calls it ended our season. When he KNEW what was working. If he is aggressive or even base Defense then no way rogers has time to string that play out.
Marinelli's old "prevent" mode is not going to work anymore with Coach Richard now in Big D and as Passing Game Coordinator, along with as DBs Coach. Guarantee those 3rd & 15s will no longer be given up for 1st downs to opposing teams.

Rod doesn't value it. We had so many holes before Rod got here that we didn't have enough picks to plug the holes. It hard to say what the philosophy was at that time.

Now we have limited holes, draft picks to plug those holes, players lining up to fill those holes and we still won't address it.

If Marinelli wanted it he would have it.
Maybe it's both? The only time we addressed the DT position was when Tuna was here.

I know at one time he had no talent, but that's not a reasonable excuse anymore. If he doesn't field a true top 5 defense this year it's clearly on him. This defense has talent.
What makes you think that? We have a still young and unproven secondary. We have an often injured LB, a rookie LB and a gimpy LB. We have a nutcase that is suspended for the first for games and Lawrence who is injury prone but hopefully repeats his one year success story.

Top 5 defense? Lol. I’m not saying it can’t happen because there is potential on paper but that doesn’t mean squat. All we know is this defense is full of unknowns. No offense Verdict but until we see more consistency from all of these players, they are average (minus Sean Lee if he stays healthy).

Yeah, although we've possibly added some nice pieces, there are too many unprovens and holes in this D. I do not see the talent at present for top 5.

I'm not sure if ever got to the point that he refused an offer to take a pay cut. His agent (or PR people) and Dez made it clear on social media during the offseason that he would never take a pay cut. I would understand if Jerry never bothered to offer it.
It wasnt a offer, he or his pretend agents were asked if he would, they probably said no way jose, so cowboys decided
to cut him.
Dez is hurting himself now, with these outbursts, and a real agent would tell him he shouldnt do that, but the guys he has
probably are cheering him on.

Honestly, Jerry and Stephen should have just said no comment unless it's about guys that are here. That goes for Dez, Irving, Earl, Anthem, Etc.

I know they love to talk, but these are distractions they have the power to stop.

Now, not only did Dez go full Dez, but people are like... Wait, is there more dirt in that locker room? Is Dez right about the play calling?
Jones boys love to talk and be interviewed more than they like winning football games.
They will never shut up.

They sure do love to hear themselves. How many other father/son combos throughout the league who don't know how to sthu? Or that are just giving their general take on camp. lol It's a circus here. A very sad circus, not the happy kind.
