Linehan is also a pass happy OC.
Extremely. I think that’s why JG wanted or didn’t mind JJ hiring him. Odd for a run first team that’s set up to kill you with the run and get a O-Line and RB suited for the run to have a pass happy HC and OC.

I've seen speculation that Marinelli is retiring and they've got the guy that SEA didn't want to move into that position.

Even better. Whole sale changes at bargain prices. Marinelli retires, Linehan gets the scapegoat treatment and the team looks like they did enough heading into 2019.

Romo is a gentleman. He's simply obeying the unwritten NFL rule that you do not throw the staff under the bus.

JG's players don't call him out until they're gone.

That just proves the players don’t respect JG. No respect leads to no trust which equates to no big wins.

Guessing he will step down. A shame because he can squeeze some talent out of players. But that bend but dont break D breaks down to much. If he stayed aggressive his Defense works better.

That's because this org has bought into the stupidity of this being a pass happy league and that the running game and RB's are not important anymore. Meanwhile, PITT and NYG and BALT and SEA have running games that were absolutely instrumental in their super bowl wins, while we thought Pantypilferer was just as good as Murray.

Linehan is also a pass happy OC.
5 years running in DET he led the league and at one time had a healthy Keven Smith, a good RB, and still chose to play Stafford-Watkins ball. Watkins was a freak but there was no creativity to Linehan's offense to even get him open. I saw Stafford throw to him in triple coverage many times. He had the best WR in the game and couldn't make the offense work any better around Watkins?

Yeah, I love that quality about him, if he just had someone on staff that would force him to understand and utilize the prototypical makeup of a super bowl contending DLine.

And the wheel in the sky keeps on turning.

Psst....Calvin Johnson....

And blatantly true. It was funny how Stafford emerged as a better QB when Linny was gone and Mega retired so Stafford had to learn to play QB.

I guarantee that players like Romo, Witten, Sean Lee, Jaylon Smith, Zack Martin, Fredbeard, Tyron Smith, Dak and Zeke will never call out their coordinators or question publicly their playbooks. They keep things "in house" like true leaders do. The rest? Meh, we see what kind of athletes they truly are.

That's what is interesting to me and also a head scratcher. He picked literally the two most decent human beings and hard workers on the team. They are complete class.
The diservice IMO is SiriusXM, because they edited (as was mentioned by @CPanther95) S Jones statement. Not only did they misquote it but conveniently left out the part he mention Dez AND Witten being great players and wanting the ball. Getting in the QBs ear.
I mean, is that not exactly what he did?
It's all there for everyone to read. Here's the head scratcher. Why no outcry for Witten? Why are there some ignoring exactly what was said? Why is anyone STILL defending Bryant?
He could have shut his face back in April. Headcase.

The team has used "passion" to put a positive spin on Dez' lack of self control. It's a serious lack of maturity. I am sure that most of us were like that at one point. But most of us grew out of that when we were very small children.

Yup. This kind of crapp is one of the primary reasons Dez got cut and hasn't been signed by anyone.

I like him as a man but as a DC, I am not a fan. His only fallback is the BDBD and in that playoff game against GB, he was too slow to react to what they were doing offensively.

He has been strapped for talent and had to try and negate some shortcomings but I would rather watch a D go after the QB aggressively rather than play back for the slow death. I am probably not the norm but give me a big play against the D as one mistake instead of a methodical drive with too many mistakes.

Irvin screamed on the sidelines to get people to play. Dez just screamed.

There's also another part of this, Dez's agent. What do you think he's using as an excuse why he hasn't landed a new deal? Think he might have intimated that someone on the team justifying why they released him and calling attention to his faults might come in handy to deflect the player's frustration?

Surely Dez's agent is catching flak for giving bad advice? Or maybe he gave good advice and Dez didn't listen?

I know many people got lost in Dez' hype and the TDs. But that was an eternity and a thousand meltdowns ago.

I don't understand how people defend this guy like a diety. He has done nothing for the Cowboys except eat up cap space for three full years and will still be eating cap now that he is gone.

On top of that he has been a serious problem for the team, a distraction, and couldn't even do the most menial or WR tasks. On top of that he drove his QB nuts.

How some fans defend him at this point is mind boggling.
