Personally I'd start Rush over Dak ...

Personally I'd start Rush over Dak ...
The dude has a weak arm. That will not improve with him playing with the first string. Zeke would face an increased amount of stacked boxes with Cooper as QB because there is absolutely nothing to fear from his arm.
Sorry I just don't see that in the tape. Is it below average? Maybe, but I think this whole "he doesn't have the minimum arm strength requirements" thing is overstated. He made two under throws in a clean pocket last night that I remember, one was to Tavon I believe on the left side of the field and idk if that was as much as an under throw or a good defensive play, but I agree he could have placed the ball better. The Gallup play was just a bad throw, 100%. But to insinuate he didn't have the arm strength to make that throw is ridiculous, he just didn't have the right touch on THAT throw. He also overthrew McVey (or whoever the WR was) in the end zone on what looked like a similar distance thrown ball.
Also, there's tape from the 2017 preseason of him throwing darts and deep balls on the money ( skip to 51 seconds in for one example of his arm talent). I'm not saying this guy played great yesterday and I'm certainly not saying he's better than Dak, but defenses have yet to make him pay for anything. Just about everything we saw from last year's preseason from him was good. Just about everything we heard from him in training camp was solid. C'mon, he supposedly has the same deficiencies as Kellen Moore yet he destroyed Kellen Moore in the preseason last year. His anticipation, accuracy, and ability to process information quickly are on a different level than Kellen's.
We'll agree to disagree. I think it is a mistake to count on Rush as the back up and any talks of him winning the starting job can be firmly planted in the laughable category.
Lollipop, lollipop, oh lolli lollipop
...2nd year QB Rush is progressing...rookie QB White is adjusting to the NFL as expected. He should get a little more time than Dak received anyway.
White has the arm strength and the touch of accuracy. He will be giving Rush a run for his money very soon I would think....also I believe that both White and Dak were the 8th QB taken in their perspective drafts...![]()
I honestly can't comprehend how people don't see the floating ducks. I guess it's a case of seeing what you want to see?Just when you thought Kellen Moore's arm was bad.
We have some intelligent fans! Love it!Here let me help you out since you are too dense to realize the error of your ways.
Argumentum ad Populum (popular appeal or appeal to the majority): The fallacy of attempting to win popular assent to a conclusion by arousing the feeling and enthusiasms of the multitude. There are several variations of this fallacy, but we will emphasize two forms.

He does have a good arm and feel for the game. He is someone who can push Dak to get better. All rush needs in my opinion is more playing time or reps. He has the tools.I'm sure looking forward to seeing what Cooper Rush is able to do tonight vs. the San Francisco 49ers.
His arm appears strong enough to me to win with, despite the angst of it being limited. Let's see about that.

Most agree with you that he doesn't have outstanding arm strength but, I did look at his game presence, defense reading skills and finding the open man. He's not bad and he can certainly operate the team and the offense. He has limitations but, he might be able to increase his arm strength with training in the coming months and years. I'd say he has lots of improvement to do but, we should give him some time to mature.
It's this kind of thinking that created the need for drug testing.Personally I'd start Rush over Dak in a heartbeat as you well know i consider Dak a bench player at best. Now if you think that 1 TD pass where the CB played the blind butterfly confirms Dak as a franchise QB then maybe you should follow baseball......
Best comment in this thread. The HOF TE was well past his peak, the "top-flight" receiver is so well thought of today that nobody will offer him a job, and Beasley was an afterthought until Dak became the QB.
Brees had future HOFers Ladanian Tomlinson and Antonio Gates at the peaks of their careers, but had years very much like Dak's until he got to New Orleans.
Roethlesberger inherited Jerome Bettis and Duce Staley at RB, and Hines Ward and Palaxico Burress at WR, and a very strong O-Line. And he had ordinary numbers for 5 years even with those guys.
As a rookie Matt Ryan had a 1699 yard/17 TD RB and a 1382 yard receiver, but still had ordinary numbers. It took him 3-4 years before the more notable seasons came.
Troy Aikman never had a big statistical season. Not once. He never had a season that statistically matched up to Dak's rookie year even when he was winning Super Bowls and had Emmitt, Irving, Novacek, Allen, Williams, Stepnoski etc ...
In the end, regardless of who any QB played with, the fact remains that history has proven over and over that QBs continue to improve after year 2, and that year 2 does not set the ceiling for a QB.
Arm strength is like accuracy, you can tweak it a bit but WYSIWYG for the most part after they get to the NFL.
Cooper puts no zip on the ball. He floats it way to much. He reminds me of Danny Wuerfel(Commanders QB)back in the day. In college you can float it and get away with it. In the pro's, you gotta fit in to tight windows. Mike White has the size and arm, he just needs time to acclimate to the league, but the tools are definitely there. At least Mike White has an NFL caliber arm.
Cooper Rush or Kellen Moore? Yeah right.
So a Carrot Topper ?????
I didn't know that& that is funny
*I'd have to rank C Rush +1 over whatever B Weeden was rated at in the red headed looks department, Too!![]()
Mike White should be able to beat him out easily if he can read quicker. Having said that and the Cowboys usual crazy overlong Holding on their Projects they will probably let Cooper stay the Backup for 5 more years and Mike White will be gone to another Team.
