Hard not to get excited about Armstrong

I try not to get my hopes up after limited exposure to a player. Everyone has been pimping out Armstrong after one solid preseason game but I was able to maintain tempering my expectations.

Then this was posted:

Check out that ankle flexibility. Holy cow. For those that dont know, most rookies shouldnt be able to do that, especially not 4th rounder who didnt drop from off field issues.

Here's a snapshot:

The little bit I've seen, read and heard, it seems he's already been well coached as an individual pass rusher. Plays more like a 5 year veteran than a rookie from the football powerhouse that is the Kansas Jayhawks.

Love having Armstrong as it's conceivable that both our starting ends (Crawford, Lawrence) are gone next season. He, Taco, and Gregory could be the top three ends next season.

I've written this before, but it bares repeating.

I know this guy because I'm an OU fan. The Sooners would be demolishing Kansas, and late in the 4th quarter, this guy is still playing his tail off and making plays.

Says all you need to know.

If Lawrence has another good year, you pay him. If Armstrong pans out, you have him on a cheap contract for several years to raise holy you-know what from the other side. With pressure coming from both sides, you probably won't need to pay big money to a safety like Earl Thomas.

One other thing. If they keep hitting on mid-round picks like Dak and perhaps this guy, its going to be awfully hard to hang on to McClay.

Assuming another good year from DLaw, he'll get franchised. Crawford likely is playing his last year in Dallas.

Watching that video, I'm worried about that leg position should an OLineman put a lot of pressure on him. Looks like it could snap/give out easier. "Insane leg bend" could take on a whole new meaning if stressed too much.

It’s not just because of preseason. He’s been everywhere during camp. He’s already getting snaps with the 1s. He’s got this insane mix of balance, power, and bend that most rookies should not have especially in the 4th round.

And many in here derided the pick on draft day.

There were a few "Yeah, he's a quality pick."

Then there many "The Cowboys just blew another 4th round draft pick."

What's it going to be then, eh?
