Pretty simple.

Just say that they have no information whatsoever at this time to corroborate the tweet and that as of now, Gregory has met all their expectations and is a member of this team until told otherwise.

There's a way to say essentially the same thing while projecting confidence. Jerry and Stephen have a way of taking a basic, simple answer and through their tones and word choices make it sound pretty bad.

There’s no tone here. It’s a quote. You want something he can’t possible give you.

Another example of what social media and modern “sports journalism” has done to sports fandom.

The soap opera element of things has become too big, at least for my liking.

Bobby has been on top of the Gregory comeback story for a while, and does communicate with Gregory's people, if not Gregory himself if I remember correctly.

And that's why some in the media are pointing to the critical article Randy did with Hill, FWST; ticked some nfl people off.

I just did a google search on Gregory ... all I found was info relating to that tweet. If this was legit there would be other sports reporters reporting it??? Just BS, until its not...

In other words, would Goodell and company be petty enough to figure out a way to nail Gregory because Gregory was highly critical of Goodell and the league's stance/policy on mental health issues?

Absolutely.

PS - Before anyone gets their panties in a wad, this isn't a "woe is us, the league has it out for Cowboys players" comment. It's a "Goodell is a petty schmuck who hates to be criticized publicly" comment.

If that's the case and Randy did just cuss out the league and poke the Goodell hornet's nest for their mistreatment on people with legitimate mental illnesses... the "trouble" Randy will get in will only result in a possible fine, not a suspension.

But a player cannot be suspended merely for words... they can only fine him.

So The Fan reached out to Laconfora to come on and elaborate on the tweet. But he said he has zero time this whole week to do any of that lmao. This clown made a vague tweet and doesn't even answer or own up to it. Basically the equivalent of high school gossip at this point on his end.

The only thing that worries me is that there was a similar thing that happened with Lawrence in the spring of 2016 that we all pooh-poohed because the first source was "unreliable" and didn't have any support for a couple days... but a few days later it was validated.

With Gregory, there was a false report in spring 2017 that he failed another drug test when he was already serving the year ban, which would have meant he would have been banned for life at that point. If that rumor had validated, he wouldn't have been reinstated, this year or ever.

So you never know... it's 50-50.

If the Cowboys don't know, how would some Dlist journalist know?

He doesn’t. Someone he was talking to probably mentioned whether the league would discipline Gregory for his stance on how the league handles mental disorders and he decided to tweet it as an unsourced open ended statement. There is nothing to this unless the team officials are simply lying.

Yeah that's odd. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt that someone he trusts gave him the info. The vagueness of the tweet and that he won't expound shows he's not eager to stand by the "tweet" for whatever reason.

:hammer:

Some of you may already know, but I'm a recovering addict myself and I just want to say that when it comes to mental health issues and addiction, the substance itself (whether it's weed, herion, coke, whatever) is only a symptom of the underlying issue...

Make no mistake, a pot head who is unable to quit using even though a million dollar job is on the line definitely has demons... the pot itself isn't the demon, and neither is heroin for that matter... The demons are within.
Addiction is a psychological problem that we all have to varying degrees. Heroin is a whole separate problem due to its effects on the brain and body. Heroin addicts relapse more often than smokers. Considering you can get a pack of cigarettes at any gas station and don't have to watch people inject heroin pretty much anywhere, those relapse rates are insanely high.

Heroin is the demon that changes who you are at a fundamental level. You don't have to have an addictive personality in order to become a slave to it. All you need to do is do it once.
Some people have addictive personalities. It can carry over into many aspects of life besides just alcohol and drug abuse. Some of the people that smoke the reefer too much may also get coffee 3 times a day, or do any number of things that could be deemed an addiction
This is true minus opioid receptor agonists. Those create the addictive personality.

Good points. Well, I also think why so many are concerned is because he looks like a beast on the field. If he came back and was no better than say Taco, then most of us wouldn't,t be as concerned. At this point, lets hope for the best.
