Root of the Rico argument

It’s because our HC is not really our HC. JJ runs the show. JG says Rico can’t practice enough. Meaning he needs to play in actual games. But I don’t think he wants him. Why has he not gotten a chance to run with the 1s? Someone likes and believes in Rico. It’s not JG. Last preseason he is doing well except his blocking. Now his blocking is ok if he is blocking the right guy. Lol. Does JG have the power to not put him with the starters?
well its obvious that Rico wasn't ready for his blocking assignments as we have read and heard about it even from Rico, but unlike many fans who are simply trying to make rico into nothing but a pass catching TE, which would make things really simple for DC to defend against if we did that, but lets just say Rico would have to make some blocks some time and if he doesn't know his assignment and a DE or a blitzing LB gets a free shot at Dak or Zeke and they get injured, all these rico fans would be here screaming for him to be kicked to the curb.

its not that JG may not trust him and he doesn't. but he will run wit the first, when he shows he has some understanding of blocking schemes. and as you said, its knowing who you are supposed to block...just get in the way at least, instead of blocking air

if u go by the typical delegation in an organization, garrett has the say when rico plays.
note that it appears after stephen said good things about rico did rico get more reps.
i suspect that means stephen does not call down from the booth to tell garrett to play rico.

why do many, include i, dont trust this.
one reason is the rumor about rico liking a negative tweet about garrett.
i can just see garrett getting his revenge and exerting his power this way.
you subscribe to conspiracy theories much? and all these garrett haters here, choosing Rico to attack garrett as a head coach....and none have considered that maybe rico ain't all that, which is closer to the truth than most want to admit

when young employees think they got the screw in their first job, they often become jaded and bad employees for their future employers

If a football player is that weak minded he is going to have problems. All of us have seen, and most of us have felt at some point, that we have had to push through unnecessary and undeserved adversity/obstacles. This is possibly even more true in athletics where coaches get accused of playing favorites and making bad decisions on every team at every level, whether they do or not. There is no expectation that a player will always agree with the coach, and players know this and have experienced it. If a player doesn't have the kind of resolve to push through it, it's his own shortcoming.

it could be.
but many of us dont trust it because the one saying it is garrett.
again, that's your problem....not garrett's....

sorry, but rico is not impressive...I don't think he is all that.....and I am sure if or when he gets cut the garrett haters and rico fan club will be up in arms....and then he goes on to continue to stink it up somewhere else and no one will mention until he scores a TD in one game in 3 years and all will be screaming, we should have never let Rico go....its a recurring movie around here...

for one, we should have kept martyb.
the coaches seem to have trouble with players that are more free spirits like rico, and sour the relationship with these players.
we also should have kept parnell over free.
Marty B played here for 4 seasons. He played 18 games with Bellichek. We kept him longer than anybody. Chicago, Green Bay, NY Giants, and NE.

if we had a competent coach, there would not be much argument if the head coach said a player is lacking

however, we have garrett, who many do not trust.
if we had a coach like belicheat, i suspect most will take the coach at his word about the worth of players.

unfortunately the best argument is garrett's self-preservation.
what if another team picks rico up and he balls out.

Winning buys patience and trust. We have no reason to trust Garret's opinion of anything. That said, if rico can't break into this pathetic lineup of TE's, he has no chance anywhere else.

well if u r 6'6", 280 lbs, run a 4.8
or if u run a 4.4 and at least 200lb.
before u do, let me buy an injury policy naming me with as beneficiary.

I'll hide behind the kicker before taking on a block or trying to make a tackle. At my age I couldn't catch the return man anyway, so my whole goal would be to avoid blockers.

we do not get 5 1st round picks every year

yea and which rock will u hide under if rico is cut and balls out somewhere else.

we simply followed the ibm model.
i believe many firms in the asia also follow this as best practice.
the point is that if we had a real head coach, this argument over rico would be moot.
maybe not....just because you did IBM model (which we didn't and I worked at some large companies and they didn't) it doesn't mean its successful for all...

and what does hiring an intern have to do with Rico.....there are other rookies in the NFL...they are not necessarily hired...they are drafted or signed through FA every year...every team.

again, if we had a real coach as you like to say, perhaps rico would have been cut a long time ago....but lets just continue to sew a yellow jacket for rico

I'm not sure what you mean by this, unless it's to say 1st round picks are the only one's we should expect to be mentally and emotionally tough enough to push through and become the best they can be after having a coach they didn't agree with. I won't comment further because maybe you meant something else that I'm not thinking of.

my observation is simply if we had a real coach, then no one would be questioning the rico situation like we are now. that is it. instead many believe rico is getting the raw deal, and the team may be getting stuck with inferior players because rico may have liked a negative tweet about garrett
