Jonathan Cooper, Guard
Released by the San Francisco 49ers, the vested veteran is now a free agent and can join the team of his choosing. As the Cowboys starting left guard last season, Cooper would be a clear choice for Dallas to sign due to his has previous experience playing on this line and considering their depth issues.

Donnel Pumphrey, Running Back
The Cowboys were interested in Donnel Pumphrey during the 2017 NFL Draft, but the Philadelphia Eagles selected him in the fourth round before Dallas could. The Cowboys selected wide receiver, Ryan Switzer, instead.

Viewed as a running back with special returner/playmaker qualities, Pumphrey could become the change of pace back in Dallas to spell Ezekiel Elliott and Rod Smith, the only two running backs remaining on the roster, while also being a difference-maker on special teams.

T.J. Johnson, Center
The Cowboys are in desperate need for offensive line depth, especially considering the fact they will be without the services of All-Pro center Travis Frederick for an unknown amount of time due to his recent diagnosis of having Guillain-Barré Syndrome.

T.J. Johnson has spent the past five seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals prior to his release on Saturday. Former Bengals offensive line coach Paul Alexander is now in Dallas. Reuniting with Johnson could provide experienced depth at the center position as the 28-year old has 45 NFL games under his belt, starting five contests in the last two seasons.

Landry Jones, Quarterback
The Cowboys quarterback situation in the preseason has been terrible, with backups Cooper Rush and rookie Mike White struggling against minimal talent. The idea has been floated a time or two that Dallas needs a more experienced hand backing up Dak Prescott under center.

That makes Dallas a perfect landing spot for quarterback Landry Jones. The former fourth-rounder is entering his sixth NFL season. During that time, he’s been the primary backup for Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback Ben Rothlisberger.

Jones even has some starting experience, having started in five games the past three seasons. The 29-year passer could provide the Cowboys with a more experienced voice on the sidelines for Prescott while also adding better depth at the position.

Breshad Perriman, Wide Receiver

Not many first-round selections get waived before their rookie contracts are up. But that’s how bad Breshad Perriman played in Baltimore.
But Perriman is exactly the type of underperforming high-draft pick the Cowboys love to take a chance on.

At some point, the Ravens believed Perriman had enough talent to justify selecting him 26th overall in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Possessing NFL bloodlines (father is Brett Perriman), the 6-foot-2, 215-pound receiver posted 33 receptions for 499 yards and three touchdowns for Baltimore in 2016.

Yet, Perriman was certainly released for a reason. He has struggled with drops, catching just 10 of 34 targets last year. But the former first rounder is also only 24-years old. And a new environment could spark a career-revival.

Xavier Su’a-Filo, Offensive Guard
A former second-round pick, Xavier Su’a-Filo has a ton of NFL experience, starting in 41 games since 2014. That includes starting in 31 of the Houston Texans 32 games the past two seasons.

I’d take a look at Rick Leonard. He is an OT who was drafted by the Saints in the 4th round this year. Looks the part, 6’7 and 320 pounds, can’t imagine why the Saints wouldn’t give him a chance but the Cowboys should pounce.

What’s up with Xavier?

Perriman isn't better than the recievers on this roster. All he can do it run fast in a straight line. I can get behind the rest of these moves, but I wouldn't touch Perriman. I'd much rather kick the tires on Coleman, but even that's only with a one year show me what you got deal.

Maybe Tarvarus McFadden. He has some potential

Cyrus Jones released from Pats too, injured last year. Little small for us though

T.J. Johnson makes the most sense on that list.

We need a reserve center while Travis Frederick is on the shelf.

I have zero interest in trying Zack Martin there because none of the active reserves are deemed capable.

I'm the opposite in this. If Sanjay Lal is such a route guru and great receivers coach and has techniques like carrying bricks so that receivers hand strength increase to catch and hold onto the football. I wonder if he could help Perriman realize.his.potential.

Quenton Meeks is another CB that fits the mold Richard's likes. Released by Jags

On OL, Dorian Johnson is an interesting guy too.
I think both are way too far off our radar. Never had them to visit at Dallas pre-draft. No real ties to the organization.

If they didn't think Lal could fix Bryant, there's no chance he's fixing Perriman

Care to explain why you believe he is such a nice add other than the fact we showed interest in him during the draft?

No clue, I didn’t see any above average traits in his game before the injury.

Cooper can play center as well as both guard spots
Jonathan Cooper couldn't even win the starting LG job in training camp last year competing against converted OT Chaz Green.

The coaches didn't trust the RT job to Green, opting to move La'el Collins out there, yet he somehow got the nod to open the season at LG and was removed because of injury, not performance. Coop did keep the job after he replaced Green, but the Cowboys seemed perfectly content to watch him walk away in free agency.

I don't mind the idea of JC as a reserve, Kadeem Edwards isn't worthy of being on the 53 as I type, but it would be as a guard only.

Cooper's never played center in a NFL game, me may have the ability to snap the ball, but why not try to add someone who has already done it at this level?

Cooper out played Green, so it had nothing to do without not beating Green out. The staff wanted Green to be the LG and it didn't matter if Cooper was better. You ever notice once Cooper became the starting LG we actually moved the ball better on offense.

I definitely agree on Perriman. I watched the Ravens preseason games. He was given ample opportunity
to shine. There was one particular play in the end zone where the effort didn't appear to be there and the ball was
intercepted. It was as if the decision was made on that play.
