Geoff Swaim won starting TE job?

Cowboys TE Geoff Swaim is listed as the starter on the team's depth chart.
Dallas was always expected to take a committee approach at tight end. Blake Jarwin played more total snaps than Swaim in the preseason, but it's the latter who was graded above-average in pass-blocking at Pro Football Focus. Rico Gathers, who avoided being released following an arrest for marijuana possession Friday evening, is listed ahead of rookie Dalton Schultz. Gathers receiving heavy usage in the red zone is the only chance this group produces anything for fantasy purposes. Sep 4 - 6:31 PM

You would rather no one played TE on the first play of the game?

I figured from as soon as Witten retired that Swaim would be the starter. Jarwin getting the next most snaps, but could push to start by the end of the year.

Is he still good enough of a blocker to add to the running game?

Listed as starter but we’ll be spelling tight end and wr very often. Keep defenses guessing
I’m not sure I agree that swapping second tier talent for third tier talent is what people generally mean by keeping defenses guessing.

They won’t have to guess because they won’t care who you roll out.

Well duh. He's #1 in the new triplets.

Swaim, Dak and Zeke.
