What if they resign Dez?

The Cowboys tried to do the same thing with Brian Price. Releasing a player at the end of camp and then signing him after week 1 when the contract is no longer guaranteed is pretty standard practice in the NFL. A million dollars is nothing.
point is in the raiders case, Bryant is due to be suspended lol...so why then decide to cut bait with a guy you gave a fairly high pick for...knowing he will be unavailable,ONLY to resign him in 10 days? What changed? Sounds bizarre. Price is a vastly different sitch.

He's not unavailable because he hasn't been suspended, that rumor is just a rumor and absolutely nothing has come of it since it was initially reported 3 months ago or whatever. And, if he does get suspended, they can cut him with 0 consequences because his contract isn't guaranteed. That's why you do it.

Its risky as HELL. It looks wishy washy. If he wasn't good enough to make your squad 11 days ago, whats changed? The loss to the Rams?

What has changed is that his contract is no longer guaranteed so there is no risk lol

just a what if

if he could get past the drops - I'd be okay with - nobody plays harder - all the rest, just spell the name right, it's press

I see him as a lightning rod, not a loose cannon, as long as he holds on to the ball

If he wants it, I'd give him 5mn guaranteed (topping Browns), with incentives building to 1k yards, 12 tds, reaching a max of 11mn (still less than he was scheduled to make), but in return for paying him like a top 5 WR, we get a team option to lock him up for 2 more years on low-guarantee, low-base, incentive-heavy contracts

But Martavis had some off the field issues. Dez on the other hand was released because he was supposedly one of the reasons the offense was having problems. That is according to the front office. "Dak won't have Dez in his ear" a quote straight from Stephen Jones. So if you brought him back it goes against the grain of the teams philosophy. It's not about the Raiders and it's not the same situation. Plus a dysfunctional jerry run football team ranks right up there with anyone. Raiders have a Super Bowl appearance in the last 2 decades.

So is Witten included in this since Steven said Witten was also in Dak's ear?

We have large a group of mostly meh WRs. Sign him up and cut loose some of the JAGS.

Dez
Bease
Gallup
Hurns
Brown
(Cedric IR)

These I would keep.

Let's go all-in on the high-risk guys Jerry likes.

Let's bring in Gordon and Bryant. Screw it.

Nope since the team did everything they can to keep Witten while they blamed the offensive woes on Dez. Stephen had to back pedal which is the only reason why he mentioned Witten in the first place. Cause he knew he put his foot in his mouth.

If Stephen doesn't watch it, he'll be about as respected as his old mouth. I mean man..........

If Browns struggle, he'll probably end up in Cleveland unless he is serious about playing for a contender.

He seems to be headed in that direction. His ridiculous Aikman comment was very daddy-like.

Why do people keep saying this? Two teams offered him a contract, one of them was a multi-year deal lol

The Ravens offered him a deal, but who was the second. I read the Browns never actually offered him a deal.
