It was a good time to put a fresh legged 1st round talent on the field. LVE's biggest talent is coverage ability. Giants weren't going to be running at that point. Fresh young legs.

And I must admit, he looked like he knew where to be and what to do. I was worried in preseason. He looked like he didn't know what was happening.

Why did Jaylon let up on the hit though?

Gonna assume you're just joking here. However, if you take a gander at how many personal fouls have already been called this year, for hits to QBs, than you'll have your answer as to why Jaylon 'let up'. In an effort to point you in the right direction, see the Clay Matthews hit on Cousin's yesterday that negated an interception and a win for the Pack. Mind you, I'm not a fan of GB so I was tickled pink to see Mr. Rodgers ticked off when the clock hit zero in OT. Back to my point, the league is moving closer to playing with flags and it was blatantly obvious on that 'tackle'.

I’ll say this... when LVE tackles someone, they stay tackled.
Check mate, I made sure to focus in on him while he wa son the field, and on more then one play I watched him come out of now where to lay the smack on a player. Even ole slippy slipknot Saquon didn't jook and run by him... I think we found a diamond in the rough with this kid...

I'll tell you why, how many of us, and I'm betting it was ALL of us, got a butt clinch, waiting for that yellow dandelion to come flying out for a hit that just watching we all knew was legal... I'll tell you this, MY BUTT clinched up tighter then a frogs butt in ice water....but thank the lord it never came...

All Cowboys fans should like those numbers. It can indicate that Lee isn't the only good defender on our defense.

More blitzing, better CB play and we can defend when Lee is on the sideline. Anyone think that Kris Richard might have something to do with that.

This feels like deja vu from last year.

Jaylon is the middle linebacker. The middle linebacker (whoever it is) will lead this defense in tackles. Doesn't really speak much to the quality of his play.

LOL.

It's hilarious that you seem incapable of just saying Smith played well.

The secondary players rave about Richard and how he's vastly improved their game. IDK if he's responsible for the dedication to the blitz this season, but it sure is apparent they're light yrs ahead of where they've been defensively the past 2 yrs. Still want to see them acquire better safeties, but it should be an enjoyable time with thos D moving forward

I think he's absolutely (maybe indirectly) responsible for the increased blitz frequency. With the knowledge that the DBs can hold their own, we're not afraid to send extra guys after the QB.

This, added with the fact that we finally have multiple guys who can actually get to the quarterback when blitzing.

Yah man, that's the look. Do you have one when Jaylon lowered the boom? I'm thinking a split second later and ELI is thinking, "man it's time to hang these cleats up. OMG where are my cleats!"
