Dak wasn't that good last night **merged**

Dak has a really bad habit that he’s displayed since day 1. He fades/drifts backwards on far too many of his throws. Instead of setting his feet and torquing his body, he is off balance and throwing off his back foot causing the ball to sail. This happens even when he doesn’t have someone right in his face and he needs to correct it. I would have to go watch the play again, but I think he did it on the Rico overthrow.

I will take that Dak every game. He was accurate and much more decisive.

The Giants have a good defense, yards were tough to come by last night.
he was much more decisive...which means he wasn't decisive before....and is he decisive enough...4 YPA taking out one exceptional play.... and 6.4 over all neither stat is any good...

sorry, dak was below average. the defense was good. outstanding in fact. the running game was good. that's about it.

Throwing the ball he was ok. He did a great job running the ball. But We won’t win many games with him playing ok. The Giants offense is awful.

We’ll need to put up more than 20 points to win games. He needs some help from the staff. They need to open things up some more. Throw more on first down. Get the ball into Austins hands more on the move. We just can’t line up and run the ball up the middle. It’s ridiculous

There is also a rumor that Garrett and Romo's relationship deteriorated after that which is counter to that rumor.
yeah, not sure what to believe coming out of Jerry World..... but it wouldn't surprise me to see Jerry and Stephen over rule the coaches....Dak and the team were hot, they were winning, fans were excited....and it meant jersey sales and ratings etc....which sounds like Jerry...ride the marketing horse

Lmao, how did he play bad?
He wasn't perfect. He was better than in CAR but he did use his legs more, which I have been in favor of because they're still going to use the stop Zeke defenses.

The other thing we always have to factor in is this is not only the East but the Giants and those games are hard to draw anything from except some good face shots of Manning. I don't think he's going to last the season.

in the first game he has about 8 or 9 really ughly throws where his jumping like a basketball shot and his feet were next to each other parallel to the LOS....gives you no power at all...

in this game he had a few more of those......

His intermediate throws were much better. I said last night it was like watching a 90s game against the Giants.

A couple of explosive plays to build the lead then rely on defense and when you need to finish it off have a long sustaining drive ending with a TD.

That’s how they’re going to win. If La’El and Swaim hadn’t held on back to back plays that negated first downs, the stats would look better

The bad thing about this is... Garrett and Jerry will think they have found the solution. Dak is a less than average QB. Aside from that one play.. he rarely throws deep.. that is concerning
You evidently didn’t watch the game. One of the reasons he had a lot of incompletions is because he was throwing bombs.

This thread is poorly timed. You have to take into account the progression from week one with a brand new receiving corps and new approach. I would also look at his poise, zero turnovers, and the fact that he got out of trouble and threw the ball away avoiding disaster several times. I would also take into account what he did with his legs which was HUGE and received no mention by the OP. Poor analysis imo. Also every game has context not always captured by the stat line. With the game on the line (13-3), Dak stood tall and made MONEY throws to extend the drive that ultimately put the game away. We're all wanting Maholmes stat lines to justify a "good" performance. It's a long season. This was a tough divisional opponent desparate for a win who Jax just defeated by 5 points. Steps people.... steps. We're moving in the right direction. Dak had a solid game.

the score was 13-3 in the 4th..... 13 points.... and we had a TD drive which he looked good...the defense played fantastic...when you hold the opponent to 3 points with 6 minutes to go....you have done your job.....the defense had 6 sacks and gave the offense good team position...giants were true to their word...loading the box and daring Dak to beat them....he did...with 6 yard throws...again, he did have one 64 yard TD pass... but the rest of the time it was very very average
I think you found your answer. While being up and having a defense that is curb stomping, it may not be a smart idea to start “taking shots downfield”. Anyone remember the 2013 Matt Friggin Flynn comeback masterpiece against us? Garrett does...

I'm one of the biggest Dak "haters" on the board, but that O-line wasn't doing him, nor zeke any favors last night. I saw quite a few plays where he was running for his life from the minute the ball was snapped. He's still nothing more than a serviceable QB, but he showed flashes of 2016 last night.

I don't deny those..... but he can only win so many games with Dak running....QBs are paid to throw and throw from the pocket..... not run......there is a long list of running QBs who are no longer in the league because they could never throw from the pocket.....

sorry, giants are not a very good team....and if it wasn't for an outstanding defense, we would be in whole heap of trouble..... if we play like this...then we are staring at 5-11 for the season....

Yeah, sure. Jg is ecstatic with dak.....thinks he has Aaron Rodgers on his roster.

awesome....over rated passer ratings...he was 6.4 YPA over all and outside of that one play...4 YPA....... that's more important........giants didn't respect dak and were willing to gamble on stopping the run and giving dak opportunities down field.

You realize there are other players involved, right? An oline that was allowing immediate pressure on third down (hence the throw-aways). Receivers not making plays on catchable balls.
