I’m not getting into whether or not he is in decline or just not back quite yet after the suspension. What I will say is that what they are getting from him at this point is not worthy of a top 5 draft pick or a big money extension. That could be him or it could be the offensive scheme and how defenses are playing them. It doesn’t really matter why. To me, RBs, even special ones, should not be drafted that high. It is tough for them to maintain longevity and even if they have a great first five years, do you really want to commit big money to a RB on a deal taking them past their 30th bday? A player drafted in the 1st round should be a player you envision getting a long term 2nd contract. I don’t think you can really do that with RBs with any certainty. RB is a position that should be drafted every single year somewhere between rounds 2 and 6 and just keep young legs coming. When they wear out, next man up and then another rookie in the next draft. Repeat the cycle. I think the current situation in Pittsburgh May be a prelude to what we have in store with Zeke. Don’t want to lose him but can’t meet his demands so he holds out to avoid an injury before getting paid.

its rust and lack of reps with the new oline and blocking scheme. Zeke is too muscled up,thus is too heavy. He will get better as we go.

Not looking to argue - but I haven’t seen the burst - nor have you.

Vs the Giants he was pedestrian

You haven't seen Gurley explosive this year. You haven't seen Johnson explosive this year. You haven't seen Fournette explosive this year. Bell hasn't even played. You may not being looking to argue, but you are being disingenuous.

It has been 2 games and Elliott has been productive. It isn't as if he has been anemic like Derrick Henry who is struggling to gain more than 3 yards per carry. The steelers game his rookie season was one of his best games ever. Not every game will be like that, but he will get there.

Zeke and Gurley are the best RBs in the league and it's not even close to #3. I don't see how you can watch Sunday night and think Zeke looks worse than he ever has. He is the absolute best RB in the league at turning a loss of 1 into a gain of 2.

With all the money we save on zeke and dak, we can make this Defense the best in the league.

Why can't people move on? It happened. Dallas drafted him. You can't change that. He is their current running back and he is good. It isn't as if they drafted Troy Hambrick that season. The moaning about his draft spot is ridiculous.

I don't buy this, what has regressed is the oline. Tyron Smith for sure.

Zeke is still special. However, Barkley looks to be much better. Barkley reminds me of Barry Sanders. He has big thighs, quick lateral moves and cuts ad can accelerate fast. Zeke doesn't have lateral agility. He is more straight line speed. But that is OK. Plus, Dallas has not used him enough in the passing game STILL. I mean HELLO, Linehan, design a play where Zeke can be the #1 route please. A slant to the middle of the field, crossing routes, etc. Just dumping the ball off to him while he is standing at the LOS is getting pathetic.

2 games into the season guys. Hell was did Collins say heading into this game

“We’ve really got to focus on stopping Zeke, making sure that we're playing our gap assignments, making sure we close the air out of their running game,” Giants safety and defensive co-captain Landon Collins said on Wednesday. “If we do that, put the ball into Dak's hands, I think we have a better shot at winning.”

One thing they forgot when they sold out on the running of Zeke, Dak can pull the ball and take off on some easy runs. Giants DE were pinching down hard on the fakes to Zeke and Collins coming up hard.

Zeke is the most useful running back in the NFL. For 3 quarters he pounded the rock against a good Giants D. In the r4th Dallas had an 8-minute drive resulting in a Zeke TD...that is how you use Zeke. Now just give him 25 touches a game.

An offensive line wears a D down - however Snacks Harrison manhandled our point of attack ... inexplicably we kept running at him.
Perhaps that’s because he couldn’t get round the outside either .
You are aware we are without an All Pro in the middle right?

Zekes rookie year will remain his pinnacle of success , his ceiling ...

Gone is the zip ... gone are his catch & run swing pass greatness ...

Gone is the burst - the burst that wow’s you ...

Is he washed up ? No ! Is he ineffective?no!

He’s a rumbler now ... 3,4,2,3,9....

He’s no longer top 5

Bell
Gurley
Fournette
Barkley
Johnson

He’s more Derrick Henry like these days ...

Why ? He’s never been the sane since the 6 game suspension.

Our OL has never been the same since the loss of Ron Leary .

Bell, not playing and better.
Gurley, better offensive approach.
Fournette, not playing and better.
Barkley, two NFL games and better.
Johnson, may not get 100 yds this season and better.

Zekes not washed up but he's not as good as lesser backs on the field that have better media, fantasy, and talking heads support.
