2016 report on Washington from Dane Brugler's guide. He rated him a 3rd round pick:

BACKGROUND: A five-star defensive line recruit out of high school, Adolphus “DD” Washington committed to in-state Ohio State over offers from Alabama, Michigan State and several others – was also the Ohio high school basketball player of the year his senior season, leading his conference in points and rebounds. He played sparingly as a true freshman before seeing his role expand as a sophomore in 2013, starting six games and finishing with 36 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks. Washington started 14 games as a junior and set career-highs in tackles for loss (10.5) and sacks (4.5), earning All-Big Ten Honorable Mention honors. He returned for his senior season and started 12 games (missed bowl game due to suspension), recording 49 tackles, 7.0 tackles for loss and 4.0 sacks, earning Second Team All-Big Ten honors. Washington accepted his invitation to the 2016 Senior Bowl.

STRENGTHS: Boasts a tall, long and moldable frame, carrying his weight with ease…very good initial and short-area quickness to burst off the ball and extend into blockers…limber big man with balanced feet and lateral agility to sidestep blocks…strong hands and long arms to tie up blockers and grip-and-rip without losing momentum – not bothered by bodies in his path…collects himself well in space to redirect and pursue…punishing finisher as a tackler, using his weight to drive through his target…flashes the ability to track the ball, work down the line of scrimmage and sniff out screens – needs to do this more consistently…unselfish player, using angles to force the run away from him…weighed 230 pounds as a senior in high school and worked hard to add good weight…has a two-year old daughter.

WEAKNESSES: Instincts and recognition skills are stuck in the development phase, flowing with the action and losing sight of the ball…needs to do a better job looking through blockers to find the ball without surrendering the point of attack…tends to think too much instead of allowing his reactive athleticism to dictate his play…hand placement and mechanics are still a work-in-progress…production tends to come in spurts and will disappear for stretches – struggles to stay motivated…questionable mental toughness and struggles to deal with touch coaching – effort has been a consistent question mark throughout his career…off-field decision-making needs vetted after a Dec. 2015 misdemeanor arrest for soliciting a prostitute – suspended for the Fiesta Bowl, his final collegiate game.

SUMMARY: A three-year starter, Washington lined up primarily as a nose guard as an underclassmen before moving to three-technique as a senior where he had his best season. He struggled to live up to the hype out of high school and considered quitting at one point – admittedly didn’t have his “stuff” together and effort questions have followed him throughout his career. Washington has excellent movement skills for a man his size with the well-rounded skill-set to fit several positions on the defensive line, but his football instincts and anticipation are still undeveloped. A naturally talented player who leaves you wanting more, he displays first round traits, but needs a strong positional coach in the NFL to fully reach his potential – projects as an eventual NFL starter and day two draft pick.

Gonna be part of our new 12 set with rico -- BFTE's who can block out and rebound.

No kidding???? He's the reason BAL only scored 37 in that first game, would have been 44 without Adolphus holding it down.

Booger must be trying to get The Adolphus Hotel as a local sponsor.

In 2 years with Buffalo he has 21 starts, 54 tackles, 3.5 sacks and 3 pass breakups. Seems we are bracing for an injury or setback at DT.

Outside of the standouts, how many D-Linemen around the league are any of us able to identify? This is a practice squad addition. Did we expect a Aaron Donald type player to be available? At least on the surface, adding a practice squad player with 21 starts under his belt over his first 2 seasons in the NFL would seem to be a good move.
As long as Earl Thomas and Josh Gordon are going to waste or being snapped up by super bowl contenders, I'll reserve the right to remain unimpressed with the signing of players that will likely have 0 impact on the season.

Then you aren't talking apples to apples when talking about the signing of Adolphus Washington.

Reid was my comp for Washington. if I had to choose active roster Reid (if that's truly the case), I'd choose that over Washington. And Cooper is another move I would make for the active roster over players they've signed there, like Su'a-Filo.

Analysis
Strengths
Agile and athletic. Can get off snap quickly and has length to fluster interior blockers if coached up. Active interior pass rusher who uses head fakes and foot quickness to open doors to a guard’s edge. Able to string together pass rush moves and counters. At his best on the move. Can be tough to reach and secure for offensive linemen thanks to lateral quicks. When rush has stalled, will gather himself and look to get his hands in the passing lane. Plus change of direction talent and can hound a runner who tries to bounce it outside. Adequate power at the point of attack and has experience as both a one and two gap defender. Productive tackler with extended tackle radius to get in on the action. Will win if consistently single blocked.

Bottom Line Washington has the size and athleticism that should get him taken within the first two days of the draft, but his issues with contact balance might be something that always hinders his ability to reach his true potential. Washington can become an effective interior pass rusher if he can force himself to play with better knee bend, but he must play with more consistent urgency or could turn into just another guy in the rotation rather than a full-time starter.

I watched every game he played while at Ohio State. He was very good there.
Not sure what he did in the NFL.
But even if on the PS I am glad he is being given a chance.

Haven’t read through all the posts yet, and probably won
T, as most already were of the thos player sucks theme as usual from the usuals.

Weren't they going to resign Price before the Raiders claimed him? He's available again now. Anyone know if Price has practice squad eligibility?
