I hope you blame Dak for the Atlanta game if you are blaming Romo for the Minnesota game. Imagine if there were 2 Chaz Green's out there, that was basically that Minnesota game. Even with that Romo threw 1 interception that game. Are you serious? Romo has quite a few multiple interception games. How conveniently you forget all those late season divisional games that were lost due to errant mistakes made by Romo. Minnesota destroyed us and Romo played like garbage. But you all gave him a pass and blamed the Oline. If that was Dak there’d be no excuse. You’d blame it all on him. You guys are haters and hypocrites. Be adult enough to admit it.
Green Bay was a part of it sure. He had a statistically average performance for QB at home that year against GB, they were just that bad. Throwing an interception against a defense that bad is worse than any Romo threw in the playoffs his entire career. Was it against Green Bay? Where he actually put up very good numbers and willed us back to almost winning the game? If thats the case you must have missed it.
He's posting a Cowboys article. Maybe we should clear all articles being posted through you first?
RGIII sucked. not because of his ego, because he wasn't that talented. pretty deep balls mean nothing. there is a long list of QBs with strong arms and pretty deep balls. accuracy. reading the defense and throwing it with anticipation in tight windows. he was talented enough to be drafted 2nd over all...but he was not as good as advertised. nobody else signed him until desparate ravens.....
not benched because of his ego. there is plenty of egotistical players in the league and the coaches play them. RGIII sucked. end of story.
and that's the million dollar question. will Dak enhance!I’ll take wins over everything. A complete team to fit and enhance Dak’s talent level can be enough to win a championship. All those gaudy quarterback stats didn’t do much for us with Romo. Time for a new beginning
I have seen him his whole career including that first year people were so giddy about. even then his footwork and accuracy were issues. I was one of the few that advocated for Romo to take back his starting job instead of keeping Dak in there. it was even obvious then that he needed to improve. the one thing I did like about him was the fight in him. and his leadership skills. I think he got lucky and hit the perfect storm at the time. plus, he presented something at the time that other teams had not seen from dallas, a QB that could run and make plays with his feet. they weren't ready for that..... but with that said, he needed to elevated his game and he hasn't. year 3 and he still has trouble setting his feet, he still has trouble reading defenses, he is unsure of himself at most times and doesn't trust his arm and now starting to stare down his revciever instead of going through his progression. I hope he gets out of this funk. I hope he improves. I hope he settles down. It's like you've never seen him win a single game. I challenge you to recall his whole career and stop cherry picking the games he didn't play so well. Stop pretending to be interested in fairness to Dak. You obviously have an agenda to slam the man.
why sad? when you don't here full on support for your favorite player, you call it sad. what a cop out. I stated a fact. the defense was outstanding in that game. deny that?Sad commentary when winning isn't good enough.
its not arguable for Aikman to be called a bus driver. no bus driver ever makes it to the HOF. its one of the toughest achievements of any one's life in any profession. you may fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool everyone...Aikman was money. with that said, he was a main part of the success of the team, he was one of the key cogs, to diminish that its asinine. and btw, many argued that Emmitt's success was because of the OL, without them he was nothing.....so I guess everyone owes the OL a big debt of gratitude. Irvin, Emmitt and Aikman were nothing....Please read what I said, I never said I believed that Troy was a "bus driver". I said it was arguable. Big difference. There are people who said that Troy was Emmiitt's caddy (because the expression bus driver wasn't invented). I was never one of those people. I will say that Troy sometimes get more credit than he deserves for the team's success in that era. That does not mean that he iwasn't important to those teams or isn't worthy of the HOF. He was a terrific Cowboy and one of the best QBs of his era. He is one of my faves, but people shouldn't confuse his greatness of his play with his postseason success. He rarely had to carry the teams he played on and when he lost key components, he wasn't the same player. Other Cowboy QBs had to do as much with less than what Troy had..
you mentally deranged. the defense held the giants offense to 3 POINTS to the middle of 4th Quarter. that's dominant. if the offense scored 13....that would have won the game...so now you want the defense to also score for you!!! what are you an idiot! Are you mentally disabled? The defense didn’t score a point. Dak engineered our scoring drives. The defense just prevented the Giants from scoring enough.
I agree. the offense this year is in Dak's hands. we have to wait and see.If we do anything this season it will be because Dak truly carried this team. No Witten's Dez' s TO' s Glenn's. So let's see how the season plays out.
bingo.....Not giving up on Dak yet but he really does not see the field all that well right now. He too often stares at only one half of the field, then if there's no throw he starts to panic scramble. He has a tough time going through his progressions, and if he does get to his 2nd or third read he has a hard time keeping his throwing mechanics clean at that point. Hes great if his first option is open but if its not he really struggles and thats not a good sign. It's surprising because in his rookie year he was great at it, the Atlanta game really messed with his mental.
Wrong. He played well, but then you have to actually watch the game instead of just looking at the stats and backing out the longest play.
Green Bay was a part of it sure. He had a statistically average performance for QB at home that year against GB, they were just that bad. Throwing an interception against a defense that bad is worse than any Romo threw in the playoffs his entire career.
Troy was way more accurate than Dak and was more careful with the ball than Romo.
To be honest, he's not progressing. Linehan is bringing him back a step with the playcalls from the Giants game. He had to because Dak didn't look ready to run the offense he had in place week one. The play design was good, but Dak failed to make the right reads or deliver the ball on time against Carolina. Yes, there were dumb penalties and the line did not always give him a clean pocket, but for the most part, they protected him okay. He ran into at least three sacks and did not hit the myriad of open receivers thoughout the game, who were playing against a fairly weak secondary (that got torched by Matt Ryan Week 2 for comparison).. While part of this was rust, due to the dumb decision by the coaching staff to not give him more snaps in preseason games, a lot of this was on Dak's development.
By bringing back the "spread'em out" RPO, as his base offense, Linehan is giving Dak a chance to be more effective now. It also might be a sign that Dak isn't ready to be an NFL Franchise QB too. He's got one more year to improve, but he should be farther along than he is. In this league, it is unusual for RPO QBs to a have long term success. Learning to be consistent from the pocket is the way a QB can have a lengthier career and desribes most Franchise QBs.
The America's Team standard was shot down long before Dak arrived 2+ decades of ineptitude has done that. I want this team to win, whether it's with Dak or without Dak, but either way we didn't upgrade those positions.Put Mahomes under Center in Dallas and watch how our WR start looking like total STUD players including our TE.....nothing against Dak of course just seems odd that the sentiment here is "oh well that's who Dak is and we just have to live with it"....may I ask why????
Why will America's team yes America's team stoop to lower standards for Dak? What has given him this right of passage?
