Heard it on the radio yesterday driving home that next week something is in the works that could positively affect the Cowboys and their fans that would, (as he described it) "break the internet"

The only 2 possibilities that come to mind that would be internet breaking are:

1. Romo comes back
2. Dez comes back

Ben went on to say that he got this from the same source who predicted Witten's retirement 2 weeks before it happened

side note: I don't think the Earl Thomas thing is it because that wouldn't really be internet breaking..

posted this here because I don't see a Rumor Zone and I know it would get moved from Fan Zone

Now this intirques me. Because you are right, he has hinted at things before that turned out to be true like dez and Witten.

So Tony Romo, who retired with a completely broken body, is still being considered a realistic “hope” that could rescue this team? Why not ask Roger to come out of retirement? Geez..

And Dez, unsigned by any other NFL team, is going to suddenly rescue this WR corps? He couldn’t do it last year, so why this year?

For the record, I respect what Tony and Dez did for this team in their hey day. But the key to our future does not lie in the past.

The only thing I can think of that would truly “break the internet” for Cowboys fans would be the news that Jerry Jones is stepping aside as GM. Now that’s a headline most fans would get excited about. THAT would provide more Hope than a 40 year old broken body QB or a has been receiver.

Most common sense and reasonable post I've seen on this board in awhile

my line of reasoning is due to:

fact: recent comments Tony made about being healthy enough to play football
fact: he never filed his retirement with the NFL
speculation: the Joneses and coaching staff are desperately searching for competent QB play
my opinion: if it happened would definitely fit the mold of "breaking the internet"

that is certainly something that would break the internet, yes, but doesn't necessarily fit with recent events (i.e. we would have heard rumblings / leaks of Jerry stepping aside by now)

And if it happened it would fit the description of a new coat of paint on the Titanic. Tony Romo’s body is broken. Coming out of retirement isn’t going to heal that.

Any Leveon Bell quality players available for trade at other positions? An impact WR maybe?

i never argued to the contrary.. was merely pointing out what was said, gave my opinion with reasoning, and trying to spark discussion

Romo did not retire with"a completely broken body."

Antonio Brown has basically dared the Steelers to trade him.. that's an intriguing notion

Steelers trade Brown to Dallas and sign Dez. That'd be a story. We get another speed WR to pair with Thompson and Butler and Austin (not that those guys are actual threats, but they fit the mold of fast WRs who can get downfield). Steelers get a draft haul to help the rebuild after Roethlisberger retires and replace a disgruntled player with a name to keep things interesting in the short term to cover some of the PR hit from trading away an elite player.

Now Dallas just needs to be able to protect Dak enough for it to matter at all. :)

I'm beginning to really like this scenario

Nobody cares about Dez anymore.
