If we don't sign him, that tweet may as well be read as his announcement to retire.

Dude has tried to court pretty much everyone out there. He is a complete clown for not signing with the Ravens.

But yep, I'm happy to bring him back on a league minimum contract with a team option for an incentive laden 2nd year. Take it or leave it.

Dez Bryant tweets he wants to rejoin Dallas Cowboys

Free agent wide receiver Dez Bryant has been without a team after being unceremoniously released by the Dallas Cowboys a week before the 2018 NFL draft. Since, he turned down at least one long-term offer to join the Baltimore Ravens and has been connected to other teams to no avail. Now, as he seems to be truly ready to rejoin the NFL, Bryant launched a bombshell on Twitter, stating he would prefer to rejoin the Dallas Cowboys.

The Cowboys have not been great in the wide receiver department through the team’s first four games. Cole Beasley is the team’s leading receiver with 16 catches for 185 yards. Tavon Austin leads the club with two receiving touchdowns but just 81 yards. The club continues to struggle in the red zone

I am sure the Dez lovers would love to welcome an out of shape, non-route runner with poor hands who has burned bridges in Dallas.
Jerry would appear foolish to re-hire him.

Tavon Austin is a better playmaker right now than Dez.
Fairly similar, based on Dez's stats last season, and Tavon's projection for this season, so that's somewhat debatable.

Tavon is on pace for...
324 Recieving Yards
164 Rushing Yards
8 TDs

Dez last season. ..
838 Recieving Yards
6 TDs

Tavon is on pace to have 2 more TDs, but less yards. But if you threw in target %'s...then that would most likely give the edge to Tavon as the more efficient playmaker.

But Dez is certainly better than the rest of the recievers.

No matter how you look at it, Dez bleeds blue. That is respectable. I thought Jones' was going to renegotiate Dez's contract and find a way to keep him. No longer at his peak, he is still a threat.

He's wants to return to the team, yet doesn't hesitate to criticize Linehan's play calling -- not the best way to endear himself to the team for his return. For someone who has already seen fit to push his luck past the breaking point, he's not exactly succeeding in making amends. Some things never change. It should be interesting to see how the team responds to this, assuming they even bother. Either way, I can easily live with their decision.

Besides being overrated didn’t he burn the bridge with his childish bashing of former teammates?

Hopefully Jerry is not dumb enough to bring him back.

lol i have a sneaking suspicion that tavon isn't going to sustain his td to catch ratio over the duration of the season.

We cut Dez for a reason, he wasn't earning his paycheck. Time to move on without him and draft a quality WR next year.

I doubt our front office is willing to look as foolish as they would if he returns, only to prove being what we rejected in the first place. It won't happen.

Bring him back, he is better than anything we have right now, he can't run routes, but he can field punts and can give Dak a target.

If it was up to me I'd bring him back for a nice discount.

Whether they want him back or not, they should contact him and let him know.

He's meant too much to the team to be left twisting out in the wind. He's made a public statement that he wants to come back. That was a request. Be decent and let him know one way or another.

We shouldn't be fielding questions about whether we're interested and just shrugging. Make a decision. Let Dez know before you talk the the media.

Ed Werder contacted an agent of the Dallas FO yesterday to inquire if there was any consideration by the Dallas FO to re-sign Dez.

This, of course, was in the interest of a response to Dez's recent tweet about his wish to return.

The answer was returned to Werder as a simple "NO."
