I've been disappointed in Dak (although, i'm GLADLY eating a weeks worth of crow after last Sundays game) and Gregory. I know... i know... Shouldn't expect much from Randy, but i REALLY thought he was going to reek havoc. So far... meh.
I'm also disappointed in the Cowboys FO for not shoring up safety and tight end.
Probably the OTs. Protection hasn't been what it ought to be. Followed pretty closely by Gallup, Gregory, and Jourdan Lewis. All three of those guys are players I was hoping could step up and give this team some quality depth.
Fred missing and Dak not really progressing. I am hopeful Fred will come back. I am at the moment less hopeful that Dak will be the answer at QB ( but i am still hoping).
Dak. I was hoping that he would strengthen his weaknesses and look more like the player we saw his rookie year. Instead, overall, he looks more like the unimpressive QB we had to watch the second half of last year.
Honorable mention is Jourdan Lewis. I thought he would be a starter and a playmaker his year.
1. Gregory and Taco not getting home
2. Not getting to see Jaylon, Lee, and LVE on the field at the same time
3. Dak's development
4. Getting offensive chess pieces like Olawale, Austin, and Rico, and Linehan having no clue how to use them
5. Thoughts Woods was going to lock down one of the safety spots
I harbored secret thoughts that his slump from the 2nd half of the season last year was a slump and that he really was the guy from Year 1 who looked like a top 7-8 QB in thew NFL.
While he had a nice rebound game last week, in general, I've come to accept Dak is more likely an average QB who requires a strong OL and strong RB to play really well.
It's not the end of the world, it's not impossible to win Superbowls with average QBs, and so I am slowly learning to accept it.
Other than QB1, which is the obvious answer, I'll go with Xavier Woods, although he hasn't had much time. Safety play was kinda exposed vs Lions, and need him to step up at FS.
Dak being the #30 qb in ypg at 188 is even a bigger disappointment than Heath still being a starter, when the guys drafted cannot take the spot, and guys like Reid, Burnett, Vaccaro, Boston, Mathieu, etc being available.
Honestly my biggest disappointment this season is in Jason Witten. The fact that he said he was coming back, and then chased the money to be a broadcaster after the draft...
