Dak Prescott wasn't the problem against the Houston Texans

He's not elevating his play, but yea, he isn't the sole problem on offense. Nothing to show me though he's worth a huge contract, let alone to be given the #1 spot for 2019.
Receivers are JAGs.
Line got abused.
One thing I can't tell off the broadcast is if his anticipation is off or he just doesn't trust himself(or the receiver) at times which then makes him hold the ball for too long. Which either leads to a hit, sack or a 2 yard dumpoff on 3rd and 8.
OK. ladies and gents...if Dak aint the answer and you don't wanna resign him at years end, who will you replace him with? Mike White? Rush? lol..another rookie? You see my point?

Once he gets pressured, his internal clock is shot. He's see more pressure in his head than he's actually getting. This causes him not to be able to see the field.

watch any of the games he plays bad in. Pressured, clock shot, rushes because of fear, then loses vision.

plenty of blame to go round. Oline was bad, Garrett was terrible in crunch time, and the wr's group was horse ****. They were responsible for both int's.

Ok.....but how many balls caught guys in stride. Dak slings balls like he tossing grounder for the Rangers during infield practice or slinging passes like everyone's 6'4".

if they are getting open, which they are, he needs to have enough courage to throw the ball. He is slow on reads, and seems to not see the field good. I don't think having better receivers will help him see. Just my opinion.
no they are not. When they do, and its rare, Dak is under heavy pressure. Beasley ran a bad route and almost was responsible for ANOTHER INT. He was far from open all night. The tightends were open all night however, going forward, I think we should construct the passing attack around Zeke and that group. I like what I saw from them. We should be encouraged by the TE'S.

I wont argue that about that clock in his head. He never overcame the ghost of that Atlanta game last year where he was literally beaten like a govt mule. He hasn't been right since. Its PTSD right there...seriously. He no longer takes that split second to scan the field...so I grant you that much...he needs to solve that.

Another rookie. At this point it can't hurt. Either the next young QB sinks or swims. But 2nd QB contracts are cap killers. The team has to be sold that said QB is worth 30mil a year. I don't see that in Dak. Rather go White/Rookie QB at this stage in 2020, if not sooner.

OK..lets say we go that route, you ready for a 3 or 4 win season for maybe the next 2 years? That's the reality. Bottomline, Dak still gives this team a chance to win now. This year was always gonna be a rebuild with many bumps in the road along the way due to the changes at wr etc. Its delusional to think otherwise. Its a tough pill to swallow.

Sure.
Rather win 3-4 games than 8-9 and miss the playoffs. 8-9 wins makes our owners think the team is "almost there" and they don't want to make scary changes at coaching or player personnel.

:) No prob. I'm all about looking at all sides of issues logically. open to ideas, even if I might not always agree. I got pretty thick skin and willing to change my mind.
It's refreshing to find posters who can disagree yet not get personal, ugly and insulting.
That's a rarity around here and in distant corners of the Internet.

Not opposed to that if the guys behind him look terrible. But a long term deal, nah.

Change my mind, Dak.

Just give him a Dez Bryant, Antonio Brown, Allen Robinson, Julio Jones, Alshon Jeffery, Odell Becham, Deandre Hopkins, AJ Green, Mike Evans, Doug Baldwin, Jarvis Landry, Tyreek Hill...etc

Type player.. should be much much better.

Hard to expect much without those types.

The Ball would still be off TARGET....and don't forget the Pocket Panic Dance.....Dak Prescott QB the biggest con job running in the NFL....

A big difference between 2016 and now is he doesn’t have to look over his shoulder. He had to compete to win the job, and he did. That is on the FO to not have someone behind him to push him and make him continue to compete.

If there were a legitimate option behind him - we may see better play from Dak. Regardless, even if he were better, he’s never going to be great. He could be good enough to win games however and potentially big games (ala Dilfer, etc).

It would take guts, which Garrett is short on, but split some 1st team reps with Rush. Or sign Landry (or best available veteran, or try to make a trade), to show we have to improve there. Trying to will and want Dak to get better without trying to influence it isn’t going to change anything. The dude is too comfortable, he says all the right things, knows he needs to get better. He may be the kind of person that needs to have his job challenged to improve.

Here might be the big problem with that. Are you willing to waste this defense and all the improvements we have clearly made, only to lose the next 2 years? THEN maybe lose good players on D? I rather get Dak a couple studs at wr and fix the oline than toss the baby out with the bathwater.Im with ya tho dude...its hard to sit back and watch our beloved team lose, especially when it didn't have to be that way. Think about it. We already converted a 4th and 1, why wouldn't we go for it again in OT? Especially when you know the Texans have big time weapons that can hurt us? THAT playing it safe crap is all on JG. He lost us that game by not knowing when to take risk.

Im on board with bringing in Landry Jones. He fits what we do scheme wise. HAS started and won. I would release Cooper Rush if we did that. White is simply better.Maybe Dak needs that competition.
