Ya know I was just sitting here thinking that JG has done a great job with the defense hasn't he and should be extended for that reason. I mean, he must be responsible for the resurgence right. When parts of the team don't seem to perform well he's the reason SOOOO by simple deduction when parts of the team do well he's the reason. Jeez, he is the HC of the TEAM. Isn't that a reasonable deduction? Nonsense right, there are coaches on defense who should get those accolades! So in reverse deduction, there should be a few coaches on offense who get a smidgen of the blame. Oh, and as an after thought most of the coaches on offense are new to the team.

Which leads me to this, our defense has matured before our eyes over the past 2-3 years. Very much the same cast of characters, more game experience and last week was the first time all season they have been together as a unit. Now, compare that to the offense. Same QB and RB yes. All different WR's except for Bease. All new TE's thanks to you Witt for deserting ship. 2/5'ths of the O-line different. Thanks to you Freddy for getting sick. Common sense tells me the offense will improve over time the same as the defense has. Of course common sense also tells me that a HC should get some of the blame some of the time but not all of the blame all of the time.

Oh, by the way, extending JG could mean just about anything but for many fans it could mean drawn and quartered in a public square. Eau de furor!

I am quite familiar the source was Jeff Sullivan from the start .. a writer for the Dallas Cowboys web site (which is not the same as the Dallas Cowboys organization) .. who speculated in a tweet that Jason Garrett would get an extension and then several fan-based blog sites, low-end news sites, radio shows, etc. went with it as a headline to pull in clicks, views, listeners, etc.

This is just like the would-be "experts" or "insiders" who claimed right up until the exact moment of the announcement that their "sources" had confirmed that Elliott was not being suspended because the court had ruled in his favor.
