Now that I think about it more, I like it. 1st round receiver with speed. Isn't that what we wanted?

When they do nothing we whine, when they do something we whine. I thought I liked the QB class this year, I was wrong. The crop next year is much better.

Continue your crying now.
I have been begging for a trade to get some talent.....thank you SJones

All we need now is a FS and a healthy TFred

By any account out there, this was one (if not the worst) group of WR's in the NFL.

The Cowboys greatly improved the group today.

Did they overpay?

Maybe. Maybe not.

We should have a better idea by the end of the season.
These mock fans love their Draft picks more than the actual players and games

They are wanna be GMs that can find hidden stars in every round

Well we get a free 1/2 season out of Amari and he instantly makes us better

Ummm if Cooper was in that draft, he would not cost a ton of money and only be available for 1.5 years and have to re-sign him for even more. Why do people keep comparing this to a draft pick? It's nothing close.
That is not the point..... you can only acquire him with a trade right now..... that is the cost

But he is better than any WR in that draft or next year's draft

The years are taken care of by a new contract and excess cap space which we have

My first reaction was WTH, but my fav Youtuber likes this trade. I'm thinking that this team will result in a very high draft pick for us, so my first reaction to giving up a first was "No!" But Footsdaking has a different take on it. I guess time will tell whose instincts were right. Here's his video.

We are getting a guy who leads the league in drop percentage. Pretty much quit on his team in Oakland. We outbid ourselves. Cooper is not a #1 just like Dez was not a #1. Neither are going to go out there and take a game over and make their QB better. Charles Woodson already spoke on this. There is a reason Dallas is being trashed for this move by the national media and most fans. It makes zero sense.

How predictable this thread is. The initial reaction was anger and rightfully so. Now that I’ve skipped to the back we get to the rationalizing stage of the thread. Keep rationalizing away. It doesn’t make it any smarter of a trade.

I think Buffalo may be the only team with a worse WR corps

And even with them, we are comparable

What serious football team trades a 1 for Cooper? The Pats traded a 5 for Gordon who is a much better player. I bet Cooper has no more than 30 catches over the next 9 games. Complete stupidity.

I'm not feeling this trade.

This reeks of Roy Williams all over again.

I really thought the organization stopped doing this.

Especially after how they handled the Earl Thomas situation. There was no doubt in my mind that Earl was worth a 1st rounder. He was a 1st round talent. But when you trade you trade for value. Which is exactly what the Cowboys were doing. Offering a 3rd and telling them to take it or leave it. Low risk high reward.

The same should've been done here with Cooper. Though he's 24.....I'm for the player I'm just not for the compensation.

But to all of you guys complaining.....this is exactly what you guys wanted. You wanted this organization to make trades and bring in big names.....you got it. I don't want to hear any of you guys complain who complained this team didn't do more trades.

Well let's understand first that Josh Gordon is going to get suspended at any time. That hurt his value. Browns got rid of him because he wasn't showing up and he was relapsing. Cowboys should've been in on getting Gordon IMO. Especially if I would've known they would've done this.

It doesn't matter how good a receiver he is or isn't. The team doesn't have a QB who can make "those" throws. Yeah, he can hit the wide open guy down the sideline after the secondary sells out on a fake hand off to #21 (although most of the time the ball is horribly under-thrown), but when it comes to putting the ball in a tight spot where only the receiver can make a catch? Nope, not, sorry, ain't happening. This team could have used that pick, which will be a top 10, to get a QB of the future. Now we, the fans, are stuck with #4 for at least another season (after this one) and probably more.

Well first off, the Cowboys shouldn't be making moves base don how fans and national media feel anyway. That's for starters.

Secondly, how is Cooper not a #1 when he dominated his first two years in the league? He's 24...unless you already think he's past his prime. Now will he work here? That's a whole different story. But I can't fault him for losing interest in Oakland. Randy Moss did too.

You were always stuck with Dak for another season. Not sure why you thought otherwise lol. Cowboys were going to take advantage of having a cheap quarterback for another year.

What has Cooper done to warrant a 1? Guy quit on his team and can’t catch the ball anymore. I understand Gordon has risk but there is no way you trade a 1 for Cooper. Especially considering it looks like a high pick. Plus what makes anyone believe Linehan will use him effectively. I just got off a plane and a buddy texted me. I thought he was kidding. Simply amazing.

I have no idea. I wanted Cooper but I thought it would take a 3rd or 4th.........the only thing I can think of is that Commanders or EAgirls or one of these other teams offered a deal to where they had to either offer a 1st or give up two picks. I don't know what happened or why this move was made. I was shocked to come home from work to see this move made. Glad they got the player but I'm not sure if this fixes this offense.
