Prime Romo would win the Super Bowl with the current Cowboys

Romo never had a Defense that was this good. He also never got to play with Zeke. Romo’s Quick release, sliding within the pocket, and Houdini escapability would make the o-line better. His accuracy would make Cooper, Beasley, and Gallup better. Too bad Dak makes receivers and the o-line worse.

Prime Aikman would too, but like Tony, he's a TV analyst these days. I'd lay money on prime Staubach as well, if I understood the point of this exercise.

I don't know if prime Romo would win a Super Bowl with our current team but they would be good enough to get there. I'd feel better if we had prime Witten too.

How does Dak make them worse??? You got it backwards don't you, wouldn't it be the OL that makes Dak better??
and your QB and Wr's have been limited because of coaching and play calls. They are not being used in a way to succeed.

I love how people

This is complete utter bs. If Dak Prescott doesn’t reveal to you all that Romo was masking for Garrett, then you are just delusional
We asked this question years ago, and we now have the answer. Romo masked Garrett. I actually can't see how that isn't clear to everyone. Not just Dak. Weeden, Cassell, Orton, all looked much better elsewhere. Lots of proof in the puddin'.

No, it's the opposite. Romo holding onto the ball too long made the OL worse than what it was. This was a known fact at the time.

This would still be the worst group of WRs Romo ever played with. At the very minimum, he always had a good WR (Terrell Owens, Miles Austin for a few years, Dez) plus a younger Witten.

Prior to acquiring Amari, I'd agree with you. But I think he moves the needle quite a bit, we'll see how that affects Dak and the offense.

But before Cooper got here, yeah, Dak has had nothing to work with. Worse than any group Romo has had to work with by far (Receiver personnel).

The defense is very good and better than what we had from 2010-current, but the 2006-2009 D was pretty good too. Can't pretend like Romo never had good teams.

No, you have it wrong. The oline went from terrible before Romo to 3 (undeserved) pro bowls when he becane the QB.

He had a defense just as good in 2007.
The 2007 defense was 13th in opposing points per game, so even though I think this defense is getting overrated due to weak opposition thus far, this isn't true.

Going back to the main point of this thread, I doubt Dallas wins it all with JG as head coach, but there is little doubt that it would be a better opportunity than any Romo had in his career.

No, that was 2009. The 2007 D was decent, but mostly effective because they had a ton of leads and played against a bunch of crappy offenses. They played 6 games against teams ranked 20th or worst in offense (Miami, Buffalo, Carolina, NYJ, Chicago, St. Louis) and another 8 against teams ranked 14-19. The Patriots (48) and Packers (27) scored a ton of points.
