There was some confusion/disagreement as far as the drinks/bottles being on the house or not. There were more people involved. A 64K tab for these guys is like 60 bucks for an average group of 5 at happy hour after work. An unfortunate misunderstanding and ultimately a non- story.

Buying drinks for other people including women, reserving a private area or room, expensive alcohol, entertainment, etc.

There's a lot more that falls under a "bar tab" than just sitting at a bar and ordering a drink.

Just because $64,000 is a non-story to the players, I'm sure it was a much different "story" for the bar owners and servers and the police seemed to concur.
