You Prescott family members are ridiculous. He isn't giving y'all a cut stop it. We've saw this many times before from many qb's. In the words of Jay Z "you had a spark when you started now you're just garbage". Hope I'm wrong for my trash talking to friends sake but I honeslty doubt it.

Its more like he had an Oline when he started and now its just garbage. LOL

Alex Smith sucks and for the same production you can get a QB on a rookie contract.

That's a dumb contract and not a barometer for anything.

Alex Smith signed a 4 year, $94,000,000 contract with the Washington Commanders, including a $27,000,000 signing bonus, $71,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $23,500,000.

That is the cost of a game manager. Dak at his absolute best is pretty much Alex Smith. Andy Reid had Alex Smith and decided to aggressively trade up for Mahomes. Unfortunately I don't think the Cowboys are intelligent and courageous enough to do something similar. If they were intelligent enough to be proactive then they would have traded up 2 spots for Wentz. The Cowboys re-signing Dak and screwing this franchise for the next 5 years is inevitable. Dak will be an effective game manger again with Cooper.

I will lose my crap if they give a deal like to Dak with the way he's playing currently. Now if he shows real improvement over the remainder of this season and into next year? Maybe.

There is no freaking way I am guaranteeing $71MM for Dak Prescott as he is currently playing. That's insane.

Dak will step it up this last half of the season. Giving the JJ the green light to sign him. Daks agent is gonna go for it. 23 - 27 million a year is the going rate? If I am JJ then I want a 2 or 3 year deal if I could get it. Front end load the contract.

Cousins? He's a better QB than Dak.

So is Stafford.

49ers and Oakland overpaid for their QBs. Why should we use their stupidity to explain our potential stupidity?

Exactly. I laugh like hell every time I see someone talk about paying Dak Cousins type money.

Here's Cousins #'s so far in 2018:

71.3 % completions
298 yards per game
17 TD
5 INT

What the hell are these people smoking, talking about paying Dak like Kirk?

I'd sign another QB and open up the job in camp.
I totally agree w/ this! Dak needs competition. The only QBs I'd bring in from 2019 FA:
1) Ryan Fitzpatrick
2) Teddy Bridgewater
3) Trevor Siemian
* Marcus Mariota may be a FA too.

Sorry that Not cost of a game manager. Not that I think we will do this, but the teams that take a contrarian approach can win.
I would play out Dak’s contract and if he is lights out I would pay him otherwise let him walk. There is no point spending big dollars n a mediocre player. ( no secret his an average player)Spend money on the surrounding cast improve skill positions and both lines. We need to zig while the league zags and puts 30% of their cap in QB’s. Only pay the real franchise guys. Smart teams won’t fall into this trap.

Well, there was a time in this country, not so long ago, when $450,000 houses were selling for $1,000,000 because that's what the market mandated.

And the people who paid $1 mil for a house that was worth half that a couple years later, took a bath.

Point being--the market does determine the price, but if you know you are paying more for something than what it's actually worth, then it's a bad investment, no matter what the market says.

im not but if the Cowboys want to follow what happened with Kirk, you can make dak prove it before you pay him..FT his butt, im still looking at 2020 draft for atop QB but might need one year bridge and we may have to stick with Dak.. Id like to see Dak play with new creative HC and OC..maybe he gets the Goff boost he needs in 2019.. Daks not horrible but hes so average right now contact talks are very premature..

Cousins is better numbers wise but with that offense and players, you are crazy to compare its not fair..Cousins puts up big number but where has it got him? Dak beat him head to head every matchup, right now the Vikes are in the same if not worse spot than last year bring him over..sure his number are high, hes a gunlinger like ROMO but does he create wins, will his team to be better, id say no..hes over paid as is JG but ill agree Dak hasn't earned contract like that not even close.. Bortles contract is what Dak should get an offer..

Such a nonsensical answer.

If the market dictates that a guy like Dak make that much money then the SMART TEAM ignores the market and doesn't lock itself up into a bad contract simply because the market suggests something. I mean the Cowboys have spent the last few offseasons lecturing fans as to why they aren't active in FA - because the "market" often inflates the prices for the talent level of the player and as such, it's smart to not get involved there. And you guys applaud them and their fiscal sanity.

Then you turn around and say let's give Dak a ridiculous contract because hey, "the market".

Geezus.

You can even say that and I'd somewhat agree. I've said many times if this guy needs everything around him to be top level to be avg he isn't that good period. He is going to be worse when you have to pay him top level QB money and not get the needed pieces because of it. That alone is why I wouldn't sign him to a big deal not even speaking on his other limitations.

We'll see what?

Either Dak starts to play really well and justifies the contract or the Cowboys go stupid and give him a big deal that is an anchor on us for a few years.

I don't think there is a chance in hell this franchise does the smart thing with Dak if he continues his up and down play............. which would be just let him walk if he wants big money.
