Dallas Cowboys need upgrades at head coach and quarterback

After another embarrassing effort offensively, hard questions must be answered regarding key components towards the future success of the Dallas Cowboys.
It’s been eleven plus years since the Dallas Cowboys had a real head coach roam the sidelines. To this day, one of the most popular idioms Bill Parcells ever spoke reigns true.

You are what you are. The Dallas Cowboys are what they are. One last time, for those in the back row … The Dallas Cowboys are what they are!

This team masquerades as a good team only to reveal their true identity when things matter the most. You can blame the players but you’d be fooling yourself. The reason this team constantly underachieves is because of what remains the same.

Jerry Jones is an incompetent owner. Jason Garrett is the butt of every joke when it comes to head coaching. Scott Linehan isn’t qualified to run your child’s Pee Wee football or flag football squad, let alone a pro football team’s offense...

Instead of 21-0, the Cowboys were dealing with a 7-7 tie early in the second quarter and never led again. After another mind-numbing loss, Dallas is 3-5 and all but done in 2018. This team, record-wise is only better than Detroit, Arizona, San Francisco and the Giants. At this time, no one in their right mind would argue any differently head-to-head.

At the end of the day, it all comes down to obvious, simple facts. You cannot consistently win in the National Football League with below average head coaching and a below average quarterback.

So we have an offensive coach who was a play caller, who was given the play caller to free him up to put his stamp on the team and this is the best that they can do. This predictable and pathetic Duo can't be run out of town soon enough. If your coaches and quarterback need everything perfect to succeed you've got the wrong guys.

I agree with end of article. No use giving the team time and love until Garrett is gone. And the way this season has been such an epic failure by Jerry and co i feel like I need him and Stephen gone too. Just cut checks. That’ll never happen.

True but we have had some success with below average coaching and above average QB.

We know with Jerry’s ways an above average HC isn’t a likely scenario.

Dak has brought this franchise down but we expect our dysfunctional organization to save it. Lol

head coach yes? QB? I'll give him one year with a new qb/oc and if he sucks still, draft a new one high. I'm not evaluating any qb with Garrett/Linehan/Kellen Moore at the helm

I think a lot of people are saying this same thing. The team can give Prescott an opportunity to show that he might have something with a competent coaching staff. But that means evaluation, not extension.

I'm with you there. I'm fine in evaluating Dak with a new HC and coaching staff next year, but extension should not be on the table before that.

really I havent noticed..neither has Jerry or JG everyones safe and sleeping cozy..only in Dallas..

Same here.

And I think that Jerry's talk is just that - talk. Jones thinks saying stuff like that is his way of showing his support for his quarterback. But actions count, not words. And even he isn't stupid enough to give a big money contract to a quarterback who has 16 touchdowns and 14 interceptions in his last 16 games.

But the extension is going to come before that. Lol

Amazing how some fans still looking or hoping for normal solutions in our dysfunctional situation.

It doesn’t have to be a big money contract extension .. An extension provides a stamp of approval for a bottom tier QB.

Dysfunctional Organization

I’d say it’s not stupidity. It’s arrogance.

Exactly. If anything I'd like to know why his play has declined the way it has. I suspect it's what's around him.

I don't disagree that arrogance plays a part, but again, I'll believe Jones is stupid enough and arrogant enough to give Prescott an extension when I actually see it. I'm not getting worked up over some butt hurt ramblings on some radio spot.

So, you don’t hold any credibility that Jerry’s intent on extending Dak regardless the results this season?

None. But I notice that you're all over it as your latest rail against Jerry, divert away from Garrett talking point.

As I've said, his words mean nothing. And won't mean anything until ink is stupifyingly put to paper. I'll pick up my torch and pitchfork then.

Until that time, these words mean as much as his claims that he wouldn't fire Wade Phillips, made three days before he fired Wade Phillips.

You don’t believe there’s any credit to defenses figured out his weaknesses and Daks not been able to overcome?

11-0 was remarkable . 14-15 since not so much.
