News: Dallas Cowboys need upgrades at head coach and quarterback

You don’t believe there’s any credit to defenses figured out his weaknesses and Daks not been able to overcome?

11-0 was remarkable . 14-15 since not so much.

Part of it sure, but I doubt it's all of it. The major difference between the first year and the next two is the absence of Romo. I don't see Garrett or Kellen Moore being able to help this kid figure things out, nor can you get a true gauge of what he would develop into if given the opportunity. By all means draft another QB and let them compete, but also give the kid a fair shot out from under the influence of Garrett.

None. But I notice that you're all over it as your latest rail against Jerry, divert away from Garrett talking point.

As I've said, his words mean nothing. And won't mean anything until ink is stupifyingly put to paper. I'll pick up my torch and pitchfork then.

Until that time, these words mean as much as his claims that he wouldn't fire Wade Phillips, made three days before he fired Wade Phillips.
The stage is being set to extend Dak. Stephen suggested before the season begun Dak was playing for the size of his extension not his job.

It appears a worthy discussion in a fan forum speculations on our fearless leaders words.

Right. Garrett was good for Dak in 2016 but not now. Lol

Jerry’s not bringing in real competition for Dak.

head coach yes? QB? I'll give him one year with a new qb/oc and if he sucks still, draft a new one high. I'm not evaluating any qb with Garrett/Linehan/Kellen Moore at the helm
Exactly

But the extension is going to come before that. Lol

Amazing how some fans still looking or hoping for normal solutions in our dysfunctional situation.
I wouldn't be surprised at all, merely expressing my own opinion on how it should be handled. Hoping for it to be handled rationally and expecting it to be handled rationally are two very different things.

More words. The fact is that nothing tangible came of Stephen's words "before the season" either.

Who's saying you can't "discuss" it? I'm discussing it by saying that I give it no credence until it actually happens. You're using it as your latest "Bash Jerry" campaign and "Get out of Jail Free Card" for Jason Garrett.

Like I said, if they actually put pen to paper? I'll be right there with you, with warranted outrage. At this point, it's stress and anxiety over nothing, something that hasn't happened.

I understand but the fact he uttered those words is a talking point whether you’re interested in discussing it or not.

Was he? You have the nerve to "lol" somebody else when you come with this lame crap and try to prop up your stiff head coach again? Wow! Talk about being out of touch with reality!

Why is it that rookie Dak Prescott played great and he's gotten worse the longer he's worked under your head coach? Why is it that every quarterback has?

Your coach sucks!

Dak is a sinking ship with not enough life preservers for those around him.

I wonder how many years it will take for Jerry to admit he made a mistake?

He didn’t suck as much with Romo.

Again, I never said it wasn't. My "talking point" is that I don't give his words any weight. You, yourself, said Stephen said the same thing months ago, and nothing has happened since he spoke them either.

I'll worry about what's actually happening, like another loss and another season flushed down the toilet by your head coach. Not about Jerry's latest ramblings, supported by no actions.

I forget . You still support Jerry because of his early success with Jimmy.

The season was over before it started.

Nice try. The one attempted go-to name for Garrett defenders. Wrong.

Romo wasn't his quarterback. Romo was Parcells quarterback. He was Sean Payton's quarterback. They built the foundation for several years before the Garrett infection got here. And that foundation was strong enough that even this good couldn't completely ruin it, the way he has every other quarterback he's ever touched.

But yeah, :lmao:

I don't "support Jerry". Another failed attempt. If you can find a way to fire him too, you just let me know. Until then, I'll try to deal with failures that can be corrected.

The season was over before it started.

With Garrett as fake head coach? Of course it was.

Actually Romo was Peyton’s QB.

The Cowboys stink from the head down. Garrett is just another casualty.

A Cowboy fan with hope is a fan not accepting reality.

Parcells had a strong influence too. The fact is that he wasn't and never will be "Jason Garrett's quarterback."
It doesn’t really matter. Jerry even flushed his best chance to overcome his stink on this franchise.
