A little proof reading goes a long way when attempting to educate the masses.

So proud you must be, Dale! "I found a gaffe!" she exclaimed fanning herself with hands, flexed fingers and all. "Oh, somehow, I, am now superior!"
Otherwise, I hope your ankle is getting better, empress me lady.
And ... Isn't proofreading one word?
As for the masses ... this is a tiny cross section of the peeps in a sports-related site.
Don't be a drama queen.

Let's discuss the word Invest, next time, mates.
Xelda has promised us vanilla walnut biscuits, Runwild has beef jerky and I some Sleepy Time tea.
Go Cowboys!

I do have some beef jerky, and it's flavored with jalapeno. I'm not sure what that has to do with anything.

I think I now know the number 1 reason I don't make a big deal about grammar and spelling. I was just over at another forum that I visit regularly, I was in a thread discussing mould, and several posters went out of their way to mock me for how I spelled it, except in Canada and several other countries that's how it's spelled. These posters at this particular forum all claim to be geniuses. I guess my point being, I doubt everyone knows the correct spelling and grammar 100% of the time.

Here in the U.S. it's spelled mold, but trim around your doors and windows can be spelled molding or moulding.

Sorry, it was Future that said that. You just took up the mantle. Nevertheless, that's why Urban dictionary was quoted. You are making it out as if Urban Dictionary was quoted as if it was a quality source, and that was not the case. It was quoted because of the suggestion to Google the origin, and because there was no other dictionary that referenced the word as kids are using it now. Plus, it was me, not Runny that quoted it. Obviously your facts aren't exactly up to speed either.

Lol, smh.

The ENTIRE basis of your contention rests with using urbandictionary.com as a factual reference.

And what are you blathering about getting my facts straight? I said I never made the claim (i.e. to go Google it). That's a fact. What does Runny have to do with it.

You obviously jumped right into this with no idea of the background. If you bothered to actually know the background rather than making this incorrect assumption because it fits what you want to believe, you would know that the basis of what I discussed is simply that kids are using ratchet in the same context as if they were using the word wretched, so because of the similarity in the way they sound my assumption was that "ratchet" is a bastrdized form of wretched. I never based any of that on the urban dictionary. The Urban Dictionary reference came later when Future claimed Runny and myself were wrong about "ratched" being taken from "wretched", and suggested we Google it before making assumptions. So I did Google it, and the Urban Dictionary only came into the picture because it and Wikipedia were the only sites that even referenced "ratchet" as kids are using it now.

As for what Runny has to do with it, he is the one you falsely accused of referencing the Urban Dictionary, and who you have been arguing with in the same manner as you have with me.

Yes, I realized the US does spell it differently. No biggie, I just hate arrogant people who mock other people, then when told they are wrong, they don't have the decency to admit they are wrong ... the forums that this happened, it used to be a really good place to go, lately, it been hijacked by know it all millennials...most annoying generation yet.

I will admit when mocked, I went and checked myself. My trusty old spell check on Apple computer has never corrected me. LOL.

Hey, everyone who thinks "lead" is the past tense of "lead" raise your hand....Now slap yourself in the forehead with it. The past tense of "lead" is "led". I'm amazed at how many people I see make that mistake. It wouldn't surprise me if it happened 50% of the time on this forum.

Let's discuss among/between

We misuse these swords all the time.

Among signifies something involving 3 or more people or entities:
The law was ratified among Sens. Doonuffin, McCoughy, Pistogliani and Amoris.

Between signifies something involving 2 people: Between @Melonfeud and @Ranching the quart of cheap gin quickly disappeared.
Or, the contract was between the thimble makers Union and the yardmen.
Be best!

I think the English language can be confusing at times...
Well put, lukin!
English is an amalgamation of Latin, French, German, Celtic, Roman etc.
It gets worse when it comes to American English. There, you not only have the above, but you get regionalisms and slang developed in the Americas.
The only answer is to stay true to Webster's view of english and mix in slang at your pleasure.
