He took 5 sacks and numerous hits. Some sacks were fault of OL and WR but several were on him who held the ball TOO long.

Dak did look great when he was decisive and throws the ball ON TIME.
Dak does not do well when he has to survey the field and identify which receiver he should throw to. Dak simply can't process information fast enough. He ends up hesitating too long and often results in a sack.

How do we maximize his passing abilities? We know he can run some RPOs.
We need to limit his reads. Pretty much what we did during his rookie season. Help him with predetermined read. Limit his options to half the field and 2...max 3 reads. This shortens his need to process information and make him get rid of the football quickly.

His hesitation is due to 2-1/2 years of unpredictible routes by his receivers. He throws earlier when Beasley is the target and previously when Witten was the target.

He get there with Cooper and Gallup but Cooper has only been here for a very short period of time and Gallup is a rookie.

Dak learned that he could not anticipate anything when Dez was his primary target. Dak developed hesitation after Dez repeatedly hung him out to dry by not running the route the way it was designed.

Sometimes, guys just aren't open. The great Tom Brady missed on 20 throws on Sunday. He was 21/41. Sometimes, QBs miss, sometimes pressure gets to QBs, and sometimes no one's open.

So after two full seasons in the NFL our QB needs help reading the field needs half field reads predetermined reads and has problems processing information ? Sounds like we have QB problems. Maybe just maybe we need a real QB.

Its also because of predictable overly-used curl routes by the offense. Every time the play breaks down, I see our receivers just standing there. I bet we don't even practice for receivers to get open when the play breaks down.

No, it's a fan opinion, not a fact.

People don't seem to get that concept.

They also say Dak shouldn't hold the ball as long as he often does; however, a game of all 2 yard passes might avoid pressures and sacks but it won't win the game.

Dak just needs better coaching. Its obvious that he doesn't get the coaching needed to make him more accurate or to trust in his receivers to get themselves open. The playcalling is atrocious also. When all we do is stand around when Dak is scrambling and expect him to throw the ball to you then that another coaching issue. As what Collin pointed out. Dak sometimes doesn't get help when from his recievers. All they do is stand there.

or maybe we have a real QB who needs coaching

If you can find another franchise QB...sure. But you make chicken salad out of chicken shxx. He can be serviceable under right scheme and coaching. Dak needs to make sure that he is not a liability.

Only partly true. During his rookie year he did an amazing job probably because the coaches did "dumb" down the offense and limited his reads since he is fresh out of college. Then the coaches decided that since he's in 2nd and 3rd year now he should be able to handle "more".
Dak just can't process information fast enough to get rid of the ball. He does "see" receivers "coming" open and throw to the anticipated area well enough.

Good points. I think that the best QBs know the play call, understand the defensive coverage scheme, and have an idea who will be open; or at least where the greatest opportunity for success will be. Not sure if Dak is at that level yet, or can get there, if not. Cooper helps stretch the D now, which should help underneath and intermediate routes.

When fans have their minds made up, it's a wrap.
