What you said doesnt even make any sense. How does a QB go from rookie greatness to getting worse with experience? QB's get better with more experience, not worse.

It's almost as if you don't understand that there are highly paid professionals whose job it is to study a QB in order to determine his strengths, weaknesses and tendencies and devise a plan to defend him.

It's really simple stuff.

In effect, I am not giving credit to Dak for being a good QB, but rather giving it to the players around him. IF the players are great, then Dak shines. If they are not, he cant hold them up and his play is bad. And although I think to some degree this is the same of most QB's, it appears more so for Dak.

Very very simple stuff.

There are also guys paid to figure out Garretts predictable offense. They are called DC's. Every team has one.

When Collingsworth pointed out the pass to Gallup on the sideline he waited to throw it showed me how much he's been poorly coached. That's the problem. It's bad folks

I don't think he's being coached to hold the ball too long. He just hasn't been successfully coached out of it. Most of the flaws we see in Dak are detailed in his combine profile. There's no guarantee he can be.

Dak came up big tonight. He owns Wince. I believe he's 4-1 vs Wince head to head...#WinceSauce

Call him whatever you want.

  • Bus driver
  • Not worth the money
  • Inaccurate
  • Etc
  • Etc

Just make sure you also call him a winner.

In Dak I Trust.

I am a member, proud member, of the Dak club. Guy is a victim not cause of the offensive issues.

I'd never expect that. But a man can hope.
I have enough glow to cover everyone.
I was just talking about Dak today with a coworker. Dak has some glaring deficiencies as QB; takes to long to throw, doesn't see wide open receivers, short to midway throwing accuracy, fumbling issues. Most of that can be fixed with a good QB coach. Something we don't have unfortunately.
Dak does have some upside that you don't have in a lot of QBs though. He's great at the end of halfs, he's big and strong, throws a decent long ball.

He needs help if he's going to ever amount to anything. Again, He needs a good QB coach.

Bingo, pretty much sums it up, good team play good QB play, bad team play no so good QB play.

Dak has had good coaching dating back to his college days. His rookie season was not normal for him at all. He has had the same faults throughout his career since high school. He was not a good passer in college because he had the same faults that he is showing every game in the NFL. He will never return to playing at the same level tat we saw his rookie season. He has a few great moments every game but they are not as frequent as his bad plays. Dallas will never be a playoff contender as long as he is the starting QB. He is what he is, kinda like Tebow. No amount of coaching can make him a consistent QB. The worse thing that could happen to Dallas is for Jerry to sign him to a long term extension as the starting QB. I don’t think NFL teams are going to line up wanting to sign him as their starting QB. Dak has one decent game and fans forget about the ten games where he sucked. He was an inaccurate QB that took care of the ball. Now he can’t even do that. His fumbles is his own fault and no amount of coaching can make up for his mental flaws. He is a great kid with limited talent.

Fairly low standard you have there sir.
I know and I'm not happy about my bitterness but I'm old and hungry for a championship team. I really like Dak's leadership skills and was so hoping he was the guy.
Not sure all of what happened between season 2016 and recent but he's just "deer in headlights" dumb. I just don't see any championship level of play in him. He's playing like a rookie 4th round pick and despite the coaches or lack thereof around him, he should be improving.
Just my opinion.

I can respect that. Don't lose hope though. Dak is improvable. He has all the tools. . . Just needs a real QB coach for starters.

Why call him winner? That's a team thing.

But since you brought it up, The Cowboys are 2-2 in games Wentz has played in. I can see how that could be confused for 4-1, though.

:facepalm::banghead:

Once they get him the BEST QB coach out there and he still stinks don't worry they will have other excuses for him here in our lovely forums.....Dak has become the Cowboy Dr. Frankenstein project...........

P.S. Tools? What tools did he go shopping at Sears for xmas already cause he's got very few when it comes to being a QB in the NFL...

I’m not sold that he can win with this staff
It remains to be seen if he can with a real scheme and OC

I don’t think QB coach matters near as much as a real offensive scheme
Dak is not good enough to win with the scheme we have but few are
The real question is can he be more productive with better minds around him
He has flaws we’ve all seen but can a new coach and OC get past those

A QB gets worse from his rookie season to his 3rd with no injuries? No that is completely stupid. Its actually impossible.

Impossible to have regression? What NFL are you watching?

The OP must like the taste of kissing Dak's feet because Dak's performance was mediocre, at best by NFL standards.

All I care about is the W. When it was time to score in the clutch between Wentz and Dak only one of them was able to do it. The other was able to choke like he continues do.
