LVE Wins Defensive Player of the Week

Love that the kid is looking like a star and will be a longtime fixture on the defense.

My only concern is that his success will reinforce the Front Office's recent belief that they can simply build through the draft. There's no rule against being awesome at drafting players and going out and adding talent through free agency as well.
Well they just traded a first rounder for Cooper. So they realize the draft isn't the be all and end all.

But they do have to do a much better job in free agency.

Signing a new slot receiver and Teddy Bridgewater in the off-season would be a good step.

I like Bridgewater. But he's going to be a starter with the Giants, Jags, Dolphins or Tampa next year. He would get a lot more money there than here.

If we're sticking with Dak, I imagine few things would light a fire under his butt like bringing in someone else who could take the starting job away from him.

Dude is well on his way already to getting over 100 tackles! He didn't even play much to start the year. Didn't he miss a couple games? Next year I would like to see Lee retire then be named to the linebackers coach. He is that basically now anyway.

He's played in every game but week 1 he had only 17 defensive snaps.
Week 7 he had 21 snaps*

Just to be clear, I have no problems with bringing in competition for Prescott. None at all. I just think Bridgewater will have better options available to him.

I'm still hoping to clean out the coaching staff and bring in a offensive innovator as a HC with 21st century thinking. And let him decide if Prescott is the answer or not.

I don't think that is a problem with him.

I think the problem is just natural ability.

I think we almost look like Grudens Tampa team that won a title,in the way we are being built. Good, not great QB..like Brad Johnson...solid run game...solid receivers, oline, and a beastly D. We run the same defense as well. I think that's how we are built. Not flashy, but tough. Dak must make better decisions...and be more decisive this week or Atlanta will beat us. The holding on to the ball too long crap cant happen by him. Has to be on rhythm.

The big part of Kiffin's defense was being able to put constant pressure on the opposing QB with the front four. The Bucs never needed to blitz at all. That's the key and from what I have seen overall this year, we're not there yet, but are getting closer.

Way to go, LVE!

Good. Because if he's not on the field that game we probably get tied up and who knows what happens? He made Sean Lee type plays that gave Dallas an advantage in that game.

I can't find a video on it, but anyone remember LVE's demeanor after that bogus penalty he got against the Titans? Did you see how fired up he got? I pity anyone that missed it. That dude is for real.
Yes I saw that. I heard an interview with him the next day and when Brad sham asked him if he planned on changing the way he attacks a qb Vander cut him off and said no not changing a thing. Dude is a savage.

Derwin is solid..but he's no LVE. Never thought I could actually say that. BUT WOW...was I wrong. This guy gets better each week. Lee going to have trouble getting back on the field as long as this kid is healthy.Telling you all..we are dangerous right now. If we can get a W against Atlanta, and go on to close out a good November...we will be in the cat bird seat again. We have all the components...except for the HC.
I wouldn't say we are dangerous with Dak's inconsistency. But I like the linebacking corp of Jaylon and LVE. I like our corners, particularly Byron Jones and DeMarcus Lawrence rushing from the corner. We still need to get a little bit more pressure on the quarterback, which should come when Irving comes back.
Time for Randy Gregory to get to the quarterback now. He has some games under his belt.
