Is Dak unpopular because it is now a passing league?

Others actually think that rookie QB's get worse as they gain more experience.

BTW, one more point, sometimes QBs do get worse after playing more games. There is a psychological element to the game, and Dak admitted it himself that, that Atlanta game had an negative effect on him. Also there is a psychological effect of getting hit, which is why once a quarterback develops a fear of getting hit, you can't use them anymore. Lets hope that the last Atlanta game Dak has overcome the effect of the previous one.

It’s now a passing league, high flying league. It’s not “sexy” to run the ball. Smash mouth football is dying and the NFL set-up the game with new rules for Fantasy Footballers / Fan Duelers to make it exciting to throw for 500 yards a game and end up with a final score of 54-51.

The new generation of football fans don’t understand the advantage of a power run offense and controlling the clock. So, Dak isn’t popular because he’s not a gunslinger. It doesn’t matter if you win or lose, fans these days just want to see long bomb throws all day and don’t care if they go 0-16 while doing it.
:huh::huh::huh::huh::huh::huh::huh: :huh:
The Cowboys are an exception to the pass first league.
They are a run first team. That;s why they invested high draft picks in the offensive line and running back.

If Dak was more accurate we’d have 3 more TD’s over this streak - he missed a wide-open Noah Brown yesterday as well as Gallup down the sideline because he lacks arm strength and good placement. He missed Beas for an easy 6 from 5 yds against the Eagles.

Dak i

LOL....any other excuses? He sure looked like he had accuracy throwing in between 3 DB's on that 90 yard TD to Cooper. Great anticipation as well.

How did you like his pocket presence on that TD run? Did he cause a sack there or did he avoid one?

When Dak has a bad game it everyone right to bash him. But you sound dumb coming on here now.

It was a decent throw but the run after the catch was merit of the WR. AND on the TD run Dak did what he always do, leave the pocket.

I think Dak is a great guy, an incredible football player andna fantastic athlete. As a QB, I think he's just an above average prospect. I call him a prospect still, because as much as I am disappointed in his play frequently, I really believe he's been severely handicapped by the offensive coordinator and quarterback coach.

What did Linehan or Moore have to do with him throw that embarrassing worm burner in front of the receiver or missing Noah Brown on that gimme TD?

That’s not to dismiss your contention entirely but there are some things he’s lacking that you either have the goods or you don’t that no OC or QB coach can help you with.

You mean that Beasley dropped pass in the end?

Dak's decline in popularity is because of his inaccuracy in the deep game and the lack of production he's had this season. I'm keeping it real there. And I'm someone who is all for Powerful Football, I think it can work in this league, because teams aren't build right now to defend it. And I've been on a seesaw with Dak, and am back at the point where I think he can be something. He doesn't have to be Romo, but he does have to keep defenses honest by throwing the occasional deep ball. Maybe Cooper will help turn things around. Either way, looks like Jerry has made up his mind and we'll get at least one more season of Dak, so I'm willing to give him not just this season but next to develop, well since we are not drafting a QB replacement in this upcomming draft anyway. Also, romo was a gunslinger and unpopular with just as many fans at points in his career as Dak is now. It doesn't matter who the quarterback is in Dallas, if they don't win playoff games they have some unpopularity.
Nailed it!

Elite QBs can pass their teams to championships.
Dak doesn't have that ability.

He has all the phyisical talent in the world and can string together wins as long as the ground and pound is working and connect on a few chain moving short passes every now and then. Those Cooper touchdowns wer made with YAC.
And without the current level of play from the defense this team would be hopeless.

Yesterday it was enough. A good win. May need those two missed throws to beat the elite.

See , this is the point.

The Chiefs got rid of Alex Smith for a reason!!!

The Chiefs were a playoff team last year and they still got rid of their "good enough" QB because they wanted to win!!

Dak Prescott is a QB that will never be able to get over the hump against the good teams.
Just look at this year against winning team's.

Why can't fans understand this?

We're already chalking up the Saints game as a loss because they have a better QB so why would we beat anyone else in the playoffs?

The Chiefs made the right call when they upgraded the most important position on their team. Mahomes didn't just magically land on their roster, they moved up to draft him!
They could have said "gee, Alex is good enough to win he's gotten us to the playoffs multiple times" but they knew there was only so much a bus driver could do against good teams.

On top of all that , Dak has a top 5 Defense , top 5 running game , and we barely eek out wins against bad team's!

It's only going to get worse if Jerry pays the man because you will have to go cheap on defense and does anyone trust Dak to win with Romo type defenses?

Dak’s one flaw—and it’s a big one at the NFL level—is that he can’t throw a receiver open. He lacks anticipation. Consequently, he’s late on throws and takes too many sacks. If he doesn’t learn to anticipate, he’ll never be elite, and never be able to elevate the talent around him.

However...

He’s proven, with the right talent around him, he can be as efficient as anyone in the league. And the offense can score with anyone in the league. Unfortunately, the circumstances under which Dak can be efficient are much narrower than the circumstances under which Tom Brady or Arod can be efficient.

But they didn't get rid of Alex Smith without drafting another QB who they thought could get them where they want to go and they sat that QB a year behind Smith. If we got rid of Dak now we'd have nothing and now we have no first round pick.

He’s just not good. He’s ok but without this defense and 21 this team is a top 3 draft pick.
Here we go again...handicapping Dak.

We should just surround Dak with high schoolers and see if he can perform.

It isn't good enough that 3/5 of his OL are journeymen....nope.

As an OU fan I can tell you watching high flying offense and pathetic defense IS NOT fun.

My problem with Dak is he seems woefully inaccurate at times. And that’s something you can’t fix.

:facepalm::lmao:

We were a run first power offense in 2014 and nobody was crapping on Romo then (besides the people who had long term issues with him for years). Dak is unpopular because he's a subpar passer, not because of the run first offensive philosophy. Put Rodgers or Brees in this offense and they wouldn't be unpopular, because they can throw the ball effectively and consistently
