He's unpopular because fans would like their QB to be able to throw the ball.
We're weird like that.
Tony Romo was able to throw the ball, yet the vast majority of fans thought he was terrible. So I doubt that is it.
In fact, I would be willing to bet that had Tony Romo
NOT gotten injured and the world was not exposed to how inept the Offensive Coaching Staff was, most
fans would STILL think he was no better than Danny White, aka all stats, no substance.
So really, the best thing that happened for Tony while he played is the fact that his body started to give out on him and most "modern NFL Fans" believe that Fantasy Football is a great indicator of real NFL success.
It's just sad.
If I was an agent of a High Profile QB, college or FA, I would do everything in my power to keep them out of Dallas after the way they have treated every QB not named Aikman and Staubach. Yet I'm sure if social media and the internet was around back then too, fans would have been asking for their heads most seasons as well, especially when the 90's Cowboys could not win a game without Emmitt during his holdout.
Hmmmmmm. The NFL is a Team Sport? ....... Amazing!!!!
